RLG provided civil engineering and surveying services for the rehabilitation of more than 11,000 linear feet of water distribution mains ranging from 8-inch to 24-inch diameter, along with 2,700 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains using both open cut and trenchless methods. The project also included full pavement rehabilitation for NW 27th Street and additional improvements along several surrounding roadways. RLG coordinated paving quantities with the Water Department, developed a corrosion protection plan for the 24-inch water main, and supported the integration of Safe Routes to School (SRTS) improvements. Services also included bidding support, construction administration, and preparation of record drawings.

RLG provided Structural, Civil, and Survey services for the design and construction of Coppell Fire Station No. 5 in Coppell, Texas. The 12,000 SF facility includes a three-bay apparatus area, ground-floor living quarters, a second-floor fitness room, and an ICC 500-compliant storm shelter integrated into the building. The structure combines structural steel framing with composite construction, load-bearing masonry, long-span steel joists, and a structural concrete floor, while the exterior blends masonry with cast stone veneer to reflect a classic fire station aesthetic. RLG also designed site improvements to support access and circulation, including parking, paving, and storm, water, and sanitary infrastructure. Our Survey services included topographic and improvement surveys, subdivision plat preparation, and coordination of access and utility easements to support project approval and development.

RLG provided Civil Engineering and Survey Services for a Multipurpose Activity Center on a 6-acre portion of the Naaman Forest High School campus, working around active school operations and existing site constraints. Our team designed a new fire lane and hydrant, reconfigured parking to improve circulation and capacity, and extended water, wastewater, and storm sewer utilities to serve the facility. A drainage study confirmed that stormwater detention was not required, allowing the project to move forward within the existing system. Survey services included a detailed topographic survey and replatting to support the updated site layout, permitting, and construction. Project Progress Photo Courtesy of Core Contruction

RLG supported the multi-phase renovation of J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas, providing Civil Engineering and Survey services for new academic spaces, site improvements, and reconfigured parking and circulation to better support daily campus operations. With students remaining on campus during construction, the work followed a carefully phased approach that included utility relocations, storm sewer capacity improvements, parking lot reconfiguration, and coordination with the architect on site planning and zoning. A full topographic survey and preparation of plats to modify and dedicate water easements supported future construction and long-term campus growth while maintaining access and functionality throughout the renovation.

Happy National Surveyors Week to the professionals who lay the groundwork for every successful project. At RLG, our Registered Professional Land Surveyors (RPLS), field crews, and survey technicians play a vital role from day one. Their precision, field expertise, and attention to detail provide the accurate data that guides design, supports coordination, and helps our engineers move forward with clarity. From boundary and topographic surveys to construction layout, their work sets the foundation for everything that follows. We are grateful for the dedication and technical skill our surveyors bring to every site and every client. Thank you for the impact you make behind the scenes and in the field each day. #SurveyorsWeek #NationalSurveyorsWeek

RLG Consulting Engineers provided structural engineering services for the 630,000-square-foot Knauf insulation manufacturing facility in McGregor, Texas. The design supports three main areas: a high-bay space reaching 120 feet in clear height with 100-foot clear spans using custom deep steel trusses, a production line spanning over 1,000 feet with moment frames to resist wind loading, and a 310,000-square-foot warehouse utilizing braced frames and coordinated foundation systems. The project was designed through close coordination with ownership, process designers, and equipment suppliers to support manufacturing operations and maximize facility efficiency.
