happy trails to a freaking GOAT, @leslieodomjr . as an earnest fan, turned coworker, turned fan all over again, what a beautiful 12 weeks it has been. grateful for every laugh, every duel, every bow, and every intermission hype-up.
in 9th grade, my instagram-less high school best friend (shoutout TJ Kapur, i miss you boo) returned from his family’s NYC trip after seeing Hamilton in previews. like everyone I knew at the time, the show sort of changed his dna. and he was really obsessed with Burr. he would sing all he could recall of “Room Where it Happens,” and insisted that it was a soon to be classic.
with my front row seat at the original burr’s limited return, i’m again reminded of the great legacy i’ve joined. i’m reminded of the multitude of lineages that have existed within the walls of the richard rodgers, and the way each and every one of those people have played a role in transforming the narrative that audiences see today. and i’m also reminded of TJ and our community then, and the electricity this score enriched us with. and how one day, the lineages of our own charlotte public school will get to perform this musical that has affected so many lives.
what a chapter. see you on the other side, LOJ!! it has been nothing short of a dream.

I made a list of dream roles when i was 15, “ensemble in hamilton” being at the freaking top of the list. Joining this company, ten years later, is truly one of the greatest honors of my life thus far. The backing track of my friend group in high school, the pulitzer award winning musical that i’ve never stopped geeking over, this is all completely surreal to me.
Pictured above, me and former bway bullet @justicemoore_ having literally no chill, and the air mattress @aalyssacarol supplied for my final many moons ago. So much of who i am as an artist is because of these two. Thank you for everything.
I have about a million and one more thank you’s left to write. For now, it would not have been possible without @thehybridagencynyc and @yourboypetey , thank you for the advocacy and the emails of my dreams.
