River Wheel Company

💙10-Years have flow’n by..💘 November 5/6, 2013 was the first public debut of River Wheel Co. although it had been in the concept phase for a couples years before that. Alexander Broussard, who was working for @tgedistribution at the time, compiled a massive list of possible names that was painstakingly narrowed down with his brother Andrew until the slogan “wheels that keep you flowing” was uttered into existence. In that moment River Wheels were born and all other wheel names were forgotten. Next we reached out to long time friend, graffiti artist and inaugural team rider Greg Cohen for flowy logo inspiration then childhood friend and TGE Marketing Director at the time David Bledsoe put the final touches on the branding that has been seared into our memories ever since. Along with Greg Cohen, Matt Mckeen, Stefan Hefner and Ryan Gould were the debut team and first signature wheel lineup in a now long lineage of signature wheel models and specialty drops. Fun Fact: Andrew Broussard was nicknamed BUFF by fellow SD Local Dustin Nooner ca. 2005, a name that was used for the first freestyle handlebars, BUFF Bars, then later used for PROTO “BUFF Core Technology” representing the innovative new freestyle scooter specific metal wheel core geometry and an homage to its designer. River, sharing the same lineage is the only other wheel in scootering to bear the BUFF Core markings and technology. Not all the Sigs we managed to keep in new condition and we’re missing most of the 2 “Rework” variants but not a bad collection. 😌 Which were your favorite Rivers to roll on and what do you dream of seeing next? Had just landed my ender trick and went to explore more of this spot. We walked 10m around this corner and seen this 9 foot brick quarter. So I change my shirt so it looks like it was a different day and then instantly started trying the trick. It took me about an hour and it was cutting close because we had to get the last train home soon and it was about to storm like crazy. Just in time I finally stomped it and I was completely wrecked. s/o Johannes and Ray for sticking with me all day to get those two clips and travelling all the way back to Ray’s that night Was a good day.
