As you may have noticed from our website, there are no events taking place on campus this weekend. The Loop, Comedy Zone, and Playtime in the Park are all on pause to make way for Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition's annual Dancing with Vero's Stars this Saturday, May 16. Regular campus programming returns next weekend. We look forward to seeing you then. ⭐ Meet Paige & Edwin — bringing the energy, passion, and sparkle to the DWVS stage 💃 Paige Charbonneau is the proud owner and esthetician behind Studio Eleven Eleven Day Spa & Boutique, a space dedicated to helping people—especially women—feel confident and radiant from the inside out. As a busy mother of two daughters, Paige gracefully balances entrepreneurship and family life with the support of her amazing husband and biggest cheerleader. With a background in competitive cheerleading and dance, stepping back onto the stage feels like coming home. For Paige, Dancing with Vero’s Stars is a meaningful opportunity to give back, support local families, and inspire others to always make time to lift up their community. Joining Paige on the dance floor is Edwin Rivera, a passionate Zumba instructor and choreographer originally from Puerto Rico. Inspired by the salsa dancing traditions of his family, Edwin began dancing at just four years old and has since spent more than a decade performing at fitness events and showcases across the country. Certified in group fitness and personal training, Edwin brings unmatched energy, rhythm, and passion to the stage as he returns for his second year with Dancing with Vero’s Stars. ⭐ Meet Brian & Elena — dancing for the Mirror Ball Trophy 🕺 Brian Hayes, a fourth-generation Indian River County resident, proudly continues his family’s deep roots in the community dating back to 1904. As the owner of Hayes Construction Group, Inc., Brian has built a successful local construction management and general contracting company while also raising his three wonderful children, Eliana, Lilia, and Fitzgerald. Passionate about family, community, and aviation, Brian is honored to support Indian River County Healthy Start’s mission of helping parents and children thrive with strong beginnings and brighter futures. Joining Brian on the dance floor is Elena Smirnova, a talented professional Ballroom dancer and instructor based in Palm Bay, Florida. After exploring gymnastics, figure skating, and rhythmic sports in her youth, Elena found her true passion in Ballroom dance. Trained both internationally and in the United States, she now teaches and performs in American and International dance styles while helping amateur dancers prepare for competitions and showcase events. Alongside her husband and dance partner, Lance, Elena has captivated audiences at some of Florida’s largest fundraising dance events. Coming up in our 2026-2027 season: CLUE - A MURDER MYSTERY! Clue by Sandy Rustin is a fast-paced stage farce and murder mystery inspired by the beloved 1985 film and the classic board game. Set in 1954 at the secluded Boddy Manor, six eccentric guests—Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, and Miss Scarlet—arrive for a dinner party hosted by the enigmatic Mr. Boddy, only to discover they are all being blackmailed. When the lights go out and a gunshot rings through the mansion, the evening erupts into comic chaos. As secrets unravel and bodies pile up, the guests scramble to solve the mystery. ⭐ Meet David & Karren — bringing faith, family, and fierce moves to the DWVS dance floor! 🕺🏼 David Imler is a devoted husband, proud father of four sons, mortgage loan officer at United Direct Lending, and co-owner of Shack Shine Vero Beach alongside his brother Matt. Deeply rooted in faith, family, and community service, David has spent years serving in pastoral roles and volunteering at Calvary Chapel Vero Beach. He joined Dancing with Vero’s Stars not only to sharpen his moves on the dance floor, but also to support Indian River Healthy Start’s mission of helping local families build brighter futures. Passionate about giving back, David believes strong communities begin with supporting parents and children. Partnering with David is Karren Walter, a celebrated choreographer and certified Fred Astaire dance instructor with more than 25 years of experience. Karren has competed nationally, performed alongside icons like Stevie Wonder and Gloria Estefan at the Super Bowl, and continues to train with top professionals from Dancing with the Stars. Now in her 13th year with Dancing with Vero’s Stars, Karren is a two-time Mirror Ball winner, multiple-time top performer, and recipient of the inaugural Kathie’s Style Icon Award. She’s stepping onto the dance floor to challenge herself, grow beyond her comfort zone, and help support a cause that strengthens families and children in need. Partnering with Brandy is Primo Garcia, a dynamic professional dancer whose passion for dance began at just 3 years old. By age 10, he was already choreographing routines of his own. With experience spanning hip hop, modern, jazz, contemporary, ballroom, and Latin styles, Primo has trained and performed with some of the nation’s top dancers. During his time with Dance With Me Dance Studio, he even appeared in the Broadway production Sway alongside celebrities and professional dancers from Dancing with the Stars. Today, he proudly owns and operates South Beach Pizza 2, continuing his family’s legacy in the restaurant industry. A competition-winning culinary student at IRSC, Justin combines his love for cooking with passions for surfing, fishing, and inspiring others through his podcast, Wave of One, focused on unity and positivity. Motivated by his belief in Indian River County Healthy Start’s mission and the importance of supporting young families, Justin is ready to step onto the dance floor for a cause close to his heart. Joining Justin is Alexandra Bacelo, a talented dancer and instructor at Artistry in Motion. Originally from Miami and now proudly calling Vero Beach home, Alex has been dancing for seven years and continues to pursue both her passion for dance and a business degree at Indian River State College. A scholarship recipient from Indian River Charter High School, Alex is honored to use her talent and energy to inspire others while supporting meaningful causes through Dancing with Vero’s Stars.
