Introducing Sorting Bins 💙
In schools across our Indonesia action zone, we’ve launched color-coded bins so kids can learn to sort waste.
🎨 Same colors, same positions, so students always know where everything goes.
By practicing at school, they can bring these habits home and help their families do the same 😍
Future river heroes in the making 🌊
Would this work in your school or community? Tell us below.
It started with a question in a classroom in Antwerp 🤓:
How do you make people see waste again?
During the Responsible Marketing Week at @kdghogeschool , a group of final-year marketing students came up with a bold and slightly provocative answer:
👉 Send Dirty Pics.
A cheeky idea, further sharpened by @berlin_creative_studio , and later rolled out across Belgium with the support of @jcdecauxbelux and @asadventure .
Because every dirty pic tells us something: what ends up in nature, where it appears, and how we can push for more targeted action.
From classroom idea to public campaign.
👀 And now, it’s your turn. Show us your trashy side!
Spot it. Snap it. Upload it via Riverwatchers.be.
✨ From this… to this ✨
Not magic.
Just people doing the work.
Our River Warriors in Bandung, Indonesia, show up every day to make this happen.

Have you heard of the River Cleanup Response Unit?
When floods hit, they don’t just bring water.
They carry plastic, waste, and pollution deep into nature and rivers.
That’s why we’re developing the River Cleanup Response Unit🚨:
a dedicated team ready to act right after floods, removing waste before it spreads further and breaks down into harmful microplastics.
Our second round of training is now starting in Belgium 🇧🇪
Because timing matters. Acting fast means protecting both people and nature 💙
Together, we turn crisis into action.
