🎵Opening the season in September is the Jason Robert Brown musical, The Last Five Years. Jason Robert Brown tells the story of Cathy and Jamie’s marriage from opposite ends—her backward from heartbreak, his forward from first love—and lets us sit in the ache of two people who loved each other and still couldn’t make it work.
📝The holiday season will bring with it River & Rail’s take on the recent Broadway hit, Every Brilliant Thing by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe—a show where the line between performer and audience beautifully dissolves, drawing everyone into the story together.
🌷Rounding out this three-show season is the comedy Native Gardens, by Karen Zacarias. Native Gardens is that rare play that makes you laugh until your sides hurt while quietly holding up a mirror to our divided moment. Karen Zacarías’s sharp, hysterical comedy pits two well-meaning neighbors against each other in a property line dispute that spirals gloriously out of control, exposing the assumptions we make across generational, cultural, and political divides.
