it’s been a while since i felt happy making things
i used to be in a place in my life where i wanted shared openly, the things i was trying and failing at
the places and peaks i wanted to reach, the people i wanted to see at the goal line
sometimes you have to take a step back
my dad always told me life has a way of punishing people who do things out of order
sometimes you look back wonder how things could have been different
and i felt disconnected
waiting for that fortune to come true

the waiting i was doing was the time i needed to take
take a step back
look at my order of things
the waiting i was doing was really good for me
my peaks haven’t changed
and i’ve been reminded of a lot of my own life recently
