Never made a proper post about the engine swap being done. My old motor was burning and leaking a good amount of oil. Didn’t keep up with it and ended up starving.. miles away from the nearest gas station. Few days later I started hearing a knock that only got louder as the revs went up and then showed up when i would start the car. I replaced it with a 60k mile BP6D with a 6 speed from Japan as this is my daily and i needed the quickest option to get back on the road. Same engine I had before but i’m using the ECU, exhaust and intake manifolds from the new engine which gives better flow and removes the EGR and VCTS butterfly system. The exhaust manifold is a 4-2-1 now which explains the slight change in sound. Did all the general maintenance when the engine was out like timing belt, gaskets, seals, water pump, pulleys, clutch and other small things. I definitely feel an increase in power in the higher RPMs but below 4.5k it feels almost the same as before maybe a bit more torque. Miata is back up n running but the project is never done.
