Tigers on their home turf! This past weekend we competed at Head of the Genesee where we were sure to put on a show for our home fans. We won first in the Women’s Open 8+, second in the Women’s Collegiate 4x, and second in the Women’s Novice 4+. Several of our alumni returned to compete alongside the team in many entries as well! Thank you @geneseerowingclub for hosting yet another incredible regatta. Thank you @rittigerden for coming out to support us with free merch and morale. And a big thank you to @rit_president , Bill Sanders, for coming out and cheering us on!

On Sept 21, our Women’s Team competed at the Cayuga Duels, taking 1ST in the 2- and 1ST in the 4x!🥇🥇 And on Oct 4, our Men’s Team raced at Head of the Ohio, earning 1ST in the 4x and 3RD in the 2-!!🥇🥉

First week back!! Our rowers had a booked and busy week starting classes and getting their benchmarks done. We had a ton of fun at our reunion picnic at the boat house and locked in for our meeting covering expectations for the season. This week we had three 5k PRs from Claire O’Farrell, Megumi Prevo, and Ryan Schouten, and our team’s 5k average decreased by 0.7 of a second from last season. These tigers are back and faster than ever!
With Liberty Leagues tomorrow, many of our seniors are heading into their very last race of their college career. We had a lovely picnic to celebrate on Sunday- congratulations seniors!!! And keep an eye out for some senior spotlights this next week on @rit_rowing 👀👀
The women’s team had an amazing day at New York States yesterday! Captains Jessica Hall and Ellen Shepard took home gold in the women’s pair event, seniors Mia Leone and Arden Conybear earned a bronze for the women’s double, and our novice four crushed it with second place!! Overall an AMAZING day and some great racing🏅
TODAY IS THE DAY!!!
The first race of the spring season is upon us and the Tigers are ready to battle it out on Fish Creek at Skidmore College 👊 The rain may try to dampen our spirits but we are strong and joyful 🐯
