That’s not just a photo on the wall, that’s years of hard work, late nights, and finally getting to say “I did it.” 🎓🧡

🎓 Congrats to Miranda Garvey, Ella Mahnke, and Katherine Shomper, RIT’s first Neuroscience BS graduates! They’re wrapping up more than just a degree. They're leaving with hands-on research experience, strong faculty mentorship, and a clearer sense of where they’re headed next.
Ella describes the program as “an interdisciplinary program where students have the freedom to pursue any research direction that interests them.”
Katherine found inspiration in the community, calling it “a multidisciplinary program… surrounded by passionate, driven, and creative students.”
For Miranda, it was the depth of the experience. “A program that allows you to train across all disciplines while fostering a deeply collaborative environment.”
Now, they’re taking that experience into what comes next, including industry research roles, gap year opportunities, and plans for Ph.D. and MD-Ph.D. programs. 👉 Link in bio!

🎓 Congratulations Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduates!
As you embark on your next life journey, know that all the faculty you've interacted with here in class, or lab, or even just a chat in the hall, wish you the best of luck. Think of your days here from time to time, or at least some or your favorite ones, as you gain experience and wisdom in your next set of life adventures.
As you face new challenges, think back to some of those you've already overcome, and you'll be well-prepared to tackle any obstacle with the respect and admiration of your peers.
I look torward to "piping you in" on your Commencement 2026 with a small contingent of the ROC City Guardians. It's an honor and privilege to add a bit of pomp and circumstance to your big day in May, you deserve it!
