Thrifted a designer wedding dress for $40, added DyeMore and questioned my choices, but ended up with the dreamiest prom dress 💚 Ready to try this? Here’s how: 1️⃣ Prewash your dress and leave damp. 2️⃣ Fill dye pot with enough hot water (just below 200°F) for your dress to move freely—roughly 3 gallons. Or carefully pour hot water from the stove into a large container. Note: Colors will be lighter with lower water temps. 3️⃣ Add 1 tsp of dish detergent to help promote even dyeing. 4️⃣ Keep color theory in mind when overdyeing. For example, adding yellow to blue will give you green undertones. (We suggest doing a swatch test with a scrap piece cut from the inner seam allowance of your dress.) 5️⃣ Wearing rubber gloves, shake Rit bottle really well. Pour half a bottle (1/2 cup) of DyeMore into the bath and mix. For a bolder color, add the entire bottle. 6️⃣ Immerse damp dress into dye bath and stir continuously for 20 minutes with tongs. 7️⃣ Move your dress back and forth to ensure even coverage. Now you’re ready to create your dream prom dress! 💚 #ThriftFlip #PromDIY #RitDyeMore

Today we’re testing if you can dye claw clips with Rit DyeMore — and yep, it totally works. 🎀✨ Pick your favorite shades or rep your school colors — it’s the perfect way to keep your hair up while you cheer on your team. Here’s how to make them your own: 📚 Start with neutral or clear plastic claw clips for the boldest results. 🎨 Use Rit DyeMore (not All-Purpose!) — it’s made for synthetics like plastic. 🔥 Heat matters! Keep the dyebath at 180°F using the stovetop, or pour hot water into a heat-safe container. 🧼 Add a drop of dish detergent to help the dye spread evenly. ⏱ Dip for 1–3 minutes. Color takes quickly, so watch closely. 💧 Rinse in warm water, then cool. Pat dry with a paper towel. 💡 Pro tip: Try ombré dipping for extra credit. #BackToSchoolDIY #ClawClipHack #RitDye #DipDye #HairAccessoriesDIY #ExplorePage

What a difference! Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative helps your garment retain as much dye as possible– resulting in more vibrant, even colors and less bleeding and fading.     Here’s how to use it:    1️⃣Dye your  project according to Rit All Purpose dye instructions as normal, but before you remove the project from the bath, prepare a container of hot water to be used for rinsing.    2️⃣Add ½ bottle of ColorStay Dye Fixative for every pound of fabric to the rinsing container and stir.    3️⃣Remove your project from the dye bath and place immediately into the rinsing container.    4️⃣Stir your project in the rinsing container for 20 minutes.    5️⃣Perform a final rinse in the sink and/or washing machine.    ✨Bonus Tip:✨    ColorStay Dye Fixative can be used to prevent color bleeding and fading for commercially dyed clothes like those in your closet too! If you have an item that is bleeding in the wash, try soaking it in some ColorStay Dye Fixative and water to lock in the dye.    #diy #ritdye #diyclothing #diyfashion #upcycle

Custom pink curtains on a budget 🎀 here’s how to create our favorite Itajime Shibori pattern ⬇️ 1️⃣ Prewash your fabric and leave damp. 2️⃣ Accordion fold in equal lengths, then fold again into a stacked square. 3️⃣ Sandwich between 2 wood blocks + secure tightly with rubber bands. 4️⃣ Dip into a hot Rit dyebath for 10–20 mins depending on how much contrast you want. 5️⃣ Rinse, unfold + reveal the magic 🤭 6️⃣ Wash and dry with an old towel. Pro tip: Use Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative after dyeing to keep colors vibrant and reduce bleeding. All the supplies are available at a @walmart near you 🎀

Did you know you can stain wood and wicker with dye? 👀🧺🪵 it creates rich, dimensional color that actually soaks in—not just sits on top. Because it’s water-based (not heavy, oil-based), the natural grain still shines through for that perfectly textured finish. And the best part? No chipping. No peeling. For Earth Month, I wanted to switch things up with my design process. I tapped into my inner child, upcycled old thrifted garments and used Rit Dye to transform them into a new high end pair of pants. Upcycling is a great way to help the planet , but it’s also about learning to see potential where others might overlook it… Using @Rit Dye is a simple, eco-friendly way to refresh and recreate the look of fabric without needing to buy something new. If you’ve got clothes you haven’t worn in a while, this might be your sign to experiment, dye, and reimagine them. Next time you look at a piece you don’t wear anymore, try asking yourself one question… How could this be redesigned? Sometimes creativity just starts with seeing something a little differently. #SustainableFashion #fashiondesigner #earthday #ritdye #ad

In honor of Earth Day this year I challenged myself to turn one of my unusable fit samples (that would usually get thrown away) into a dress I will actually wear! I had to not only change the fit and style, but transform the fabric itself! @ritdye made that part super easy and I’m so happy with how the dress came out! #ritdye #ad

oops, I’m back dyeing more of my clothes 👀 it’s my favorite way to fix faded and stained items in my closet so it’s definitely an Earth Month approved activity 🌎 the Rit Dye website also has every color formula under the sun so I’m always feeling inspired✨ #ad (and tell me dyeing your faded black clothes black again isn’t the most genius hack?!!) 🤯
