Went to the soft opening last night at and it was very, very good. Such a fabulous French café vibe and decor throughout the space. The outside dining area with the huge screen is amazing for sports watching and gathering with friends. One of the coolest things is you can get there by walking the greenway or taking the light rail. The food was excellent. One of the top menu favorites is the M.O.M. Burger with truffle fries, and we can definitely see why. We had the burger with frites and the banana pudding ice cream sandwich… yum yum. The cocktails and atmosphere made the whole evening feel like a fun city escape right in Charlotte. Manners Monday What does Michelin rated mean? The story of the Michelin Guide is actually one of the most fascinating in the world of luxury dining. It began back in 1900 in France, created by the Michelin tire company. At the time, there were very few cars on the road, so they designed this guide to encourage people to travel more—listing places to eat, stay, and explore. More travel meant more driving… and ultimately, more tires. What started as a simple travel booklet evolved into the gold standard of fine dining. By the 1920s, they introduced restaurant ratings, and in 1926 the first Michelin star was awarded. Then in 1931, the now-famous three-star system was born. I miss my mom every single day. Her name was Yvonnia Mae Barker (Elrod), and she was everything to me. She was so creative, determined, goal-oriented, and so incredibly positive. She was my biggest cheerleader, and I was beyond blessed to call her my mom. She passed away in 2014, but some days… it still feels like yesterday. Here’s why it’s a no-go: Hygiene concerns: Napkins can carry lint, dust, or germs, especially if they’ve been handled or placed on the table. Presentation matters: Covering food with a napkin can make the dish look unappetizing or careless—especially in upscale or hosted settings. For me... linen napkins or elegant napkins mean alot to me and I would be upset if a fine linen was damaged. A little funny... Why did the napkin refuse to sit on the plate? What a blast yesterday at the Kentucky Derby party hosted by Irma, Marvin, Rita, and Rob 🐎🌹✨ Golden Temple stole the show with stunning 23–1 odds—an unforgettable underdog victory that had everyone on their feet. The jockey rode a flawless race, staying patient early and then charging down the stretch with incredible control and confidence to seal the win.
