Communiqué zur Aktion am Tag der Republik in Aarau Am 12. April wird in Aarau jedes Jahr an die Ausrufung der Helvetischen Republik von 1798 erinnert. Dieser Moment steht für den Bruch mit alten Machtverhältnissen und für den Beginn von Selbstbestimmung, Gleichheit und demokratischer Mitbestimmung. Genau an diesem Tag haben Aktivist:innen eine Plakataktion durchgeführt, um diese historischen Werte mit einer aktuellen Realität zu verbinden, nämlich Rojava. Rojava ist eine selbstverwaltete Region in Nordsyrien, in der seit 2012 versucht wird, genau solche Prinzipien umzusetzen. Entscheidungen werden auf lokaler Ebene getroffen, verschiedene Bevölkerungsgruppen leben zusammen und besonders wichtig ist die Rolle der Frauen, die Politik, Gesellschaft und auch die Verteidigung aktiv mitgestalten. Diese Form von Basisdemokratie existiert nicht in der Theorie, sondern unter realen und oft schwierigen Bedingungen. Die Aktion in Aarau wollte darauf aufmerksam machen, dass dieser Versuch heute stark unter Druck steht. Militärische Angriffe und internationale Interessen bedrohen die Region und damit auch die dort aufgebauten demokratischen Strukturen. Während in Aarau die Entstehung einer Republik gefeiert wird, ist der Kampf um genau diese Werte in Rojava noch im Gange. Mit Plakaten wurde bewusst ein Bezug hergestellt. Die Aktion sollte nicht nur informieren, sondern auch eine einfache Frage aufwerfen. Was bedeutet es heute, eine Revolution zu feiern, wenn an anderen Orten Menschen weiterhin für genau diese Ideale kämpfen müssen. Die Botschaft der Aktion ist klar. Die Werte von 1798 sind nicht einfach Geschichte. Sie leben weiter und werden auch heute verteidigt. Wer sich auf diese Tradition beruft, sollte nicht nur zurückblicken, sondern auch hinschauen und handeln. Von Aarau bis Rojava geht es um Freiheit, Gleichberechtigung und Selbstbestimmung. #SAVEPROSFYGIKA #Victoire à la grève de la faim de Aristotelis Chantzis We, Serhildan, as an internationalist network in solidarity with the revolutionary movement in Kurdistan, actively support the call to defend the Community of Squatted Prosfygika. The Prosfygika community has long drawn inspiration from the Kurdish movement and has actively demonstrated its solidarity with it for several years, participating in and being part of the riseupforRojava campaign. Located in the heart of Athens for the past 16 years, the community has succeeded in establishing a global model of autonomous organization, free from capitalist and imperialist logic and based on the principles of social ecology, women’s liberation, and communal democracy. Today, 400 people from 27 different nationalities live there. Over the past 16 years, 22 structures—including a bakery, a children’s structure and daycare, a facility for patients at the Agios Savvas Cancer Hospital and their caregivers, and a women’s structure—have been created to meet the needs of the community and the surrounding neighborhood. But this community is now at risk of eviction. The greek government wants to throw children, refugees, immigrants, old and sick people, people with disabilities out in the street and dismantle this political project, all to benefit the capitalist elite. The local, national, international community is fighting back. A comrade has been on a hunger strike to the death for 60 days. His demands and those of the community are for the plan to end and for Prosfygika to remain to the community that has created their lives and social bonds there. His health is becoming more critical by the day: the day before yesterday, he fainted in front of the police station where he went to check-in, as he does every month following the arrests at 7/10/2025 demo in solidarity with Palestine. The cops did not hesistate to carry out their repression even at that moment and threatened the comrads who were with him with arrest. On this day of national and international solidarity with Prosfygika, we want to remind that resistance and solidarity are our common langage.
