Riptide Film Festival’s Euphoria Sunday at @allseasonbrewing
Riptide Film Festival is the South Bay’s platform for indie filmmakers.
This year’s festival will be on October 17, 2026 (4PM–10PM) at the James R. Armstrong Theatre in Torrance.
But it doesn’t start or end there; screenings, panels, and gatherings will be taking place throughout the year for building real connection between filmmakers and audiences.
We screen films and organize rooms around them, creating experiences beyond the theater that foster community, craft, and collaboration.

Riptide Film Festival 2025 Film #RFF2025
This was a screening with a room full of people who care about story.
Filmmakers flew in. For some it was their premieres. Crowds locked in and shared moments sure to last.
Red carpet and theater seats. Big screen. Great sound. Live crowd. In a theatre, the way film is meant to be experienced.
Films are meant to be watched in community. Connecting. Celebrating. Being seen be one another.
The Riptide Film Festival is a place where filmmakers, audiences, and community meet on the same level.
Small enough to care. Big enough to matter.
If you’ve ever wanted your work to feel real…this is where it happens.
RFF 2026 — Festival date coming soon.
Submit. Attend. Sponsor. Be part of the story.

What if the experiment worked?
One year ago, my colleagues and I first started throwing around the idea of putting on a film festival geared towards local indie film for local audiences. With firsthand experience as filmmakers ourselves, our goal was to provide local independent filmmakers with a dependable platform to release their work cinematically to real audiences.
Our objective, however, was two-fold. In addition to filling a need for local filmmakers and cultivated audiences, through the festival, we sought to begin creating an audience of die-hard supporters.
Through trouble, toil and tempest, that’s what we did.
In a world that isolates us in personal echo chambers of curated content and tells us the gigantic screen is unnecessary, and that wanting to bring people to tears is “outdated”, we are called to look inward and to one another. We are each other’s most valuable asset.
As a filmmaker, there has never been a better time to develop your own audience that could# make self-distribution a reality.
But the experiment is a long way from being done. If you care about this mission. If you care about the preservation of cinema as we know and love it, follow along and support us with your attention as we lead the charge.
The cavalry may not be coming, but with your help, the cavalry could already be here.

I should tell the truth — I never wanted to organize a film festival. Largely, because I feared the entirety of the operation and everything we would need to do to bring it to life at a worthwhile level.
But, about three months ago, we tried the experiment…and succeeded! We organized the Riptide Film Festival to celebrate local independent film! 🥳🎉🎊🙌🍾🎥
And what a celebration it was!
Never had I been witness to such an inspirational collection of talent, rampant enthusiasm and adoration of cinema.
I consider it my honor to create opportunities, provide this space for filmmakers and vindicate indie film’s place in our culture.
Without the support of the art-loving community of the South Bay and the generously innovative businesses found within it, the festival would have remained a dream.
Thank you to:

Furthermore, I owe the aforementioned honor to those who, for the sake of a dream, gave their time, their talent and their trust.

And thank you to our filmmakers and our viewers.
From filmmaker to film lover, from my best friends to my best students, the Riptide Film Festival marked a GIANT success for the future of indie cinema.
As an indie filmmaker myself, I am thoroughly proud of what we’ve made it here and what the event may offer to other filmmakers.
In the face of a seemingly old and disjointed film industry, we can take the reins if, once again, we have the courage to do it.
So, when the cavalry does not come.
When funds are limited.
When giving up feels safe.
That is when you keep moving.
That is when you keep filming.
Because remember,…
Your audience is waiting.
SNEAK A PEAK at the behind-the-scenes of a semi-recent commercial concoction from Riptide Films!
This was one of the greatest shoots I have ever had the pleasure to direct. At every corner, we were presented with an issue and we always found a creative solution. I couldn’t have asked for a better team and a better experience. 🤠🤠đź¤
