my advocacy work first started with children & it was so amazing to bring my henna workshop to the youth in a way that brought all kinds of my work together ππ½ almost 70 students in one day !!
the focus of this workshop was using henna, & art in general, as a healthy coping mechanism π₯° & that self care is necessary for sustainability
everybody needs reminders sometimes that itβs okay to mess up, art doesnβt have to look any particular way, & to pause to take in the beauty β¨
we explored different symbols and talked about how to set intentions and incorporate them into our designs in order to get the most out of our henna spiritually as well as creatively (the mini coloring zine is free & now available at all events π)
my business reached a little past a year old π₯³ & it was great to reflect with the kids about how much it has changed my life & motivate them in pursuing what they want
I had so much fun & so excited for the next π
26 taught me a lot about loving and building, excited for 27 π₯° blessed to have so many people believe in the vision, send us money so we can continue tysm π
