Nyatryoshka art toys will be debuting at @collectedcon ✨💖 The first colorway is “Neapolitan”and will be very limited. They will be resin 3D printed, polished and painted similar to the colors in this animation I made in Blender!
Like Dolly, Berry, Mella and Pearidot, Nyatryoshka was inspired by Matryoshka dolls aka nesting dolls 🪆. The doll-pacas can’t exactly nest inside each other due to their different shapes, however, Pearidot’s design only had a functional hollow inside. So for this design I wanted to make the toys the same shape and nest properly like Matryoshka dolls 💕 I chose cats because cats are adorable obvs, and I’m allergic to them so I can only make fake ones 😔
When I started making toys, I ran a kickstarter for Dollypaca and she and her family were made into vinyl toys. At the time, I had the manufacturer 3D model the characters based on my illustration. I was really impressed how they translated my design to 3D and I think they did a fantastic job. Since then it was a goal of mine to learn 3D modeling so I could sculpt my own characters. I’ve been learning Blender for a few months now and I am so happy with the result! Something about making the model myself is uniquely satisfying.

The zine is a tribute to my fur babies and drawing it was my own way of processing/healing through Ellie’s recent passing. We miss her very much, but sometimes Mango does actually pause and look in random corners or her empty bed, and we like to think that she is still around in spirit 💖

Thank you so much to everyone who came and showed support for me and @heartbatstudio at CollectedCon! This was the exclusive Catbat x Dollypaca collab sticker I drew to hand out at our booth! Also a small photo dump from the event. I usually spend weeks decompressing after a con and then forget to post photos so I wanted to at least post a few 😂☺️ we had so much fun talking with everyone and hope to see you again next year!

Nyatryoshka is my newest toy design inspired by Matryoshka nesting dolls 🪆. Dollypaca and fam are also inspired by nesting dolls so I wanted them to nest/stack like this, but due to their different shapes I couldn’t quite do that. So I really wanted to make Nyatryoshka fully nest-able like the inspiration 🩷
