The word epic maybe gets thrown about a bit too much these days. But I think for this hiking and helicopter elopement it's absolutely spot on. Even their vows were epic! Nevermind the sunrise hike, the cliff top wedding ceremony, the helicopter ride, that champagne pop (when we got the wind direction wrong! haha). This video is getting shown in a movie theatre in a surprise showing to announce to family and friends thay they got married. How cool is that?! This was a memorable day. Memorable for the drive in some hideous winter conditions taking over double the normal time passing lots of vehicles in the ditch to make the wedding day on time. Memorable for the stunning ambience of Emerald Lake Lodge post-snow storm. Memorable for the lovely couple themselves who were SO great. And memorable for the words spoken during the ceremony and the love that was so obvious between them both.
And memorable because I got my van stuck during the photoshoot and had to put chains on to get out of the parking lot 😝🫣🤦♂️

This wedding at Moraine Lake really did feel like a love story out of a movie. From the story of how they met, to the fact that a friend had arranged @steph.odette , a local artist they had seen together on a special date and connected with some years before, to come out and play at the ceremony AND write a beautiful custom song for them, it was a true fairy tale from beginning to end.

I have to admit, 4.30am isn’t my favourite time of day to start work. But being at the top of a mountain for a stunning sunrise AND a wedding ceremony between two lovely people makes it all worthwhile. The weather co-operated, @marriedbycole as usual officiated a funny and moving ceremony and photographer @lenajenisephotography was absolutely amazing to work with. Congratulations you two!
