At the perfect time, bit by bit, the trio met through serendipitous circumstances to talk about the roles they played in the makings of Weight of Ribbons, now available to watch on YouTube. The 10-minute short film is a personal retelling of Rina’s love-hate story with ballet, an art form that she’s been familiar with for…well, her whole life. But in her womanhood, that dynamic shifts, subtly, then seismically. Here, she grapples with ballet as a pendulum between discipline, destiny, and desire. The result? A visually beautiful display, with the infamous
@kokocamden theatre as a backdrop, stylised by stunning Miu Miu and Valentino pieces, and narrated by none other than Rina herself.
