Honouring Sariah 🌹 moe mai rā sis 🥺🕊️
To be asked to go to hospice and be part of her final moments of care and prep was an honour I will always hold close.
My light actually stopped working during her pedi so it was a two day appointment, how blessed I got to be in her presence for two days. In those days I did what I always do and I showed up as myself. I tried my best to hold a space that felt light, warm and familiar. To laugh with her, to be bubbly, to get to know her and her whānau, to keep things feeling as normal as possible while still holding full respect for everything her and her whānau were going through.
What I witnessed was a wahine & whānau who carried so much strength, humour, aroha and courage.
This mahi will always mean more to me than nails.
@sariahnezbit , I’m so grateful I got to do your nails, to pamper you and connect with you. Although a short time, it’s a moment I’ll always hold very close to my heart.
