Visual Storytelling Workshop šŸŽØšŸ’› Students explored their personal stories through collages made from found objects and traditional materials. Guided by Elisha Brockenberry (@righteouspath.2002 ) of Nest Art Factory (@nestartsfactory ), they examined themes in the work of African creators and reflected on how art preserves memory and history in powerful, unexpected ways. A meaningful blend of creativity, culture, and conversation. #Future5 #ArtsEducation #CulturalExpression #YouthCreativity #StamfordCT

BOOM! šŸ’„ To my stemming seamworkers, freaky fashionistas, and creative crusaders… we now offer a space where students can create their own clothes sustainably and to their own sizing, and liking. With the assistance of artist and seamstress @righteouspath.2002 , students will learn to upcycle through sewing, patterning, sizing, and customization. Beginning dec. 13th, and reoccurring weekly every Saturday! Hate fast fashion and clothing waste? Have a bunch of old clothes in the closet? Come thru! 🄰😜

REPOST @kevinhernandezrosa : I warmly welcome you to the opening reception of my curatorial debut "It Told Me to Name the Center of a Volume of Water" featuring art by Elisha Brockenberry (@righteouspath.2002 ) Kellen Grisson (@kellengrissom ), and AkeyĆ© Hicks (@rem.brandt_ ) at the Noah Webster Library Gallery (@westhartfordlibraries ) Opening reception: May 7th, 2025 6 - 7:30 pm This exhibition will be open to the public during library hours from May 2 - June 28, 2025. A very special thank you to Joe Bun Keo (@joebunkeo ) for giving me the platform to present this talented group of artists. Excerpt from the Press Release I wrote: "I brought them together for the unapologetic clarity of their visions and their ability to manifest beauty that feels deeply singular—at times candidly described as ā€œbased,ā€ ā€œalienā€ or aligned with the ā€œminorā€ mode of art-making, as articulated by Chris Sharp in his 2017 essay ā€œTheory of the Minorā€. Each of the three artists has, whether recently or in the not-so-distant past, found themselves situated in the sometimes haunting, sometimes meandering, and often frustrating psychogeographic and literal landscape of Connecticut. The title of this exhibition draws attention to the mystery of who ā€œitā€ may be and the impossible task of naming something as immaterial as a boundary between the ā€œinsideā€ and ā€œoutsideā€ of some indefinite amount of water—a liquid that is simultaneously essential, omnipresent, mundane, and ferocious. This task, and its impossibility, resonates with the nature of how each of the works on display operates in terms of their relationship to apprehension and signification." *** all ove that...plus *muah*
