This film started as a thank you video, so that should tell you what a strange journey this has been. So proud that we got it onto the big screen before getting acquired by Amazon Prime. Getting this today has been the cherry on top. I'm so appreciative of everyone who has supported it. Thank you.
@aspaceintimefilm
This is 40.
I wasn't sure I would get here and on a few occasions I very nearly didn't because of varying chronic illnesses.
I've had a lot of anxiety about hitting 40 because that's when my Dad died from a heart attack so it's hard for me to feel celebratory but I'm glad I got here. He got to 4 months after his 40th birthday so in 4 months I'll be older than my Dad was when he passed. I have a lot of thoughts, ones I've been putting into a short film for over 10 years now. My aim is to finally find the last bit of funding in the next 12 months so that I can film the bigger scenes. It's a scripted/documentary, experimental, biographical hybrid with hints of dark comedy about a lot of things including anxiety I've dealt with since I was 12, my father, the multiple chronic illnesses that have dictated my life, grieving a body that feels like it's wasting away, sex, relationships, mental illness, being a man and much more.
It's going to be very hard to release such a personal film and I've been so scared to lay it all out but this is 40 and I'm excited about the second half of my life ahead.
A little bit of nostalgia today. Not sure I ever shared stills from this promo I directed for the Sony PS4 game, Erica. I was doing some research for a new project that has a similar mood and these references came in handy. Shot by @samheasman starring @makeup.wav and Joerg Stadler.

And that's a wrap on the first shoot of the year, a super fun and complicated music video shoot in Aveiro, Portugal.
Pretty much a crew of four of us plus invaluable help from locals who were so giving and hospitable.
A huge thank you to @vincentkardasik for the beautiful, moody cinematography! And amazing camera and production assistant @antonio_dias26 and all the help from people who we couldn't have done this without.
I witnessed some small miracles this week and now I'm shot listing another video which we are shooting in a few hours 😬
Back in London tomorrow and straight into the next project, it's exhausting but I'm lucky I get to do a job like this!
Day 1 of my first shoot of 2026 done. Three more days on this really special project in Aveiro in Portugal working with fantastic cinematographer @vincentkardasik
I can't wait to share it soon.

Thank you so much to @festivalinclus for putting on such an incredible festival and for the amazing hospitality. I met some wonderful people on this trip and it was an honour to have Dwarf Story be a part of such an inclusive and well put together festival that makes a huge amount of effort for accessibility and community experiences.
Thank you, I hope to screen another film and attend in the future. Congratulations to everyone who screened, won awards and just got films made!
