Let's spend a weekend cutting things up in the mountains.
I will be running my Writing as Collage workshop at Sugar Maples Art Center in Maplecrest, NY from June 12th-14th: [link in bio /class/writing-as-collage/]
This is a 3-day workshop, participants will use collage methods to generate visual and written text, jostling out new material and directions for pieces you may be working on, or generating new text or ideas. There will be a brief history of collage writing, but most of the workshop will be a hands-on exploration of writing through the tactile and conceptual process of cutting, pasting, and assembling disparate elements to construct textual collages that serve as prompts for their writing. The techniques explored in this workshop are often associated with non-traditional forms of writing like cut ups and chance operations and can easily be used to unlock new directions in any form of writing, prose or poetry, traditional or experimental. Writing As Collage is a writing workshop but is open to artists of all disciplines.
Scholarships are available through Sugar Maples for half-off tuition and $80 lodging (and one free guest room at my house up for grabs), so let me know if you are interested and I will send you the details.
Good chance I was the only one at the Buffalo Sabres hockey game wearing a painting of Udo Kier.
Painting by Robert Harris, a fantastic artist and fellow Niagara Falls NY survivor.

Whirl of a weekend doing Columbus OH and Louisville KY with Lisa Carver and crew. One of Lisa's many talents is her ability to bring together a wonderful family of the most delightful freaks and freak hosts like @surface_noise_ky and @twodollarradiohq . Special shout to my car creeps @_larayoung_ and Christine Brown for the special bond earned through the burps and farts of more 24 hours of driving together.
Also thanks for everyone who took these pictures because I didn't take any.
In Columbus OH and Louisville KY this weekend!
I'll be performing as part of Lisa Carver's Rollerderby circus, playing Jean Louis Costes, talking about psoriasis, doing stilt walking and snake charming.
(also, Lisa is looking for some participants in Columbus, so if interested let me know)

Suddering Words is a radio talk show you can listen to on WGXC Wave Farm 90.7 AND a live show that you can look at the Wave Farm Catskill Studio @ 393 Main St in Catskill NY.
This month's guest is Sawzall (Alana Siegel + Lisa Light).
Gonna be a crazy party. There will be music, trivia with prizes, wrestling, celebrity gossip, screaming and striking.
YOU MUST rsvp to attend, we can only have 12 people in attendance. We can have up to 5 million listening on the radio though.
I've spent much of February away from home finishing a manuscript. Writing every day all day for several days on end is a good way to bring about CLASSIC MADNESS.
The book is about the rich tapestry of the Hudson Valley with its high contrasts of rich and poor, rural and urban, left and right... Particularly plumbing the language of high-end "artisan" retail, and how you can read a price point in the words they use, something just from the name of a store alone. If it combines two old industrial words that you can't even remember what they mean, like "Cleat and Trellis", or sounds like it was taken from an alchemical book like written in Latin like "Etherialogica", chances are I can't afford it.
Speaking of money, my book budget for March is already depleted, bought a bunch of old Tales from the Crypt. Necessary.
(Thanks @26783times for the Darryl recommendation!)
