Sigrid Rausing photographed for El Mundo October 2019 Sigrid Rausing is the Chair of the Sigrid Rausing Trust which has distributed over £200 million to human rights organisations globally. Groups including Hope Not Hate, many different LGBTI rights groups and women's rights groups around the world as well as many conservation groups have all benefeited from the grants. The purpose of the Sigrid Rausing Trust is to promote the values and principles of human rights, equality and the rule of law, and to preserve nature from further degradation. She is the publisher of both Granta magazine and Granta Books, and published her own memoir in 2017 called Mayhem, which tries to make sense of drug addiction and the tragedy that surrounded her brother in 2012. One of the most powerful women in the UK and founder of one of the UK’s largest philanthropic foundations…..and also a pleasure to photograph. #sigridrausing #philanthropy #portrait #editorial

MNDA Campaign MNDA stands for Motor Neurone Disease Association. I do a lot of work for them and meet some extraordinary people who have this awful disease and also extraordinary people who are doing research into finding ways to help and reduce the impact on the daily life of those people who have it. MND is life-shortening and there is no cure and although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life. The people I photographed for this particular campaign are taking part in clinical trials funded by the MNDA. People like Dani, who every month travels 200 miles from her home to take part. After undergoing numerous tests and a lumber puncture to administer the experimental drug, Dani turns around and travels those same 200 miles home. Until the next month. When she will do it all over again. People like Dani are giving their everything to find a treatment for MND. They are the unsung heroes of MND research. The success of clinical trials depends on their effort, their endurance, their bravery. They do it because they are determined to free the world of this disease. Visit bit.ly/MNDUnsungHeroes – and make their sacrifice count! #MNDA #MND #als #research #charitycampaign #blackandwhitephotography #portrait
