From stored winter energy to self-sustaining growth, the Ribera del Duero vine’s season has begun.
Initially fuelled by the vine’s stored carbohydrates from the winter months, the maturing leaves take over through photosynthesis ✨
It’s Spring! This means Bud burst is imminent! After months of dormancy, rising temperatures cause the vine to push water and nutrients up from the roots, causing the dormant, brown buds to swell and "burst" open. Ribera del Duero vines soon to be bursting 🌱

Our vines overlook the Peñafiel Castle, a must-visit in Ribera del Duero 🏰
Its origins date back to the 10th century (c. 943), serving as a crucial defensive stronghold during the Reconquista. While originating earlier, its present appearance is mainly due to reconstructions in the 14th and 15th centuries
