HADES LOUNGE 🏺🕯️ I am so incredibly proud to be the director for my classmates modeling project this semester! I’ve learned so much as a team leader and have discovered a newfound interest for painting and texturing 3D models. ✨💃🔮 NOVEMBER 14F 🔮💃✨ My last and final mockup poster. I had a lot of fun with this one it practically felt embarrassing. Is it really Rian campaign season without the skeleton? I don't think so. I would love to see this on my wall personally and I hope you feel similarly! I've been listening to a lot of disco music lately 70s artists and newer ones putting their own take on it, I like how it sounds and the history behind the movement is fascinating, especially with how it feels like it is becoming more popular again, I can see why. 🌩️⚡ The Lightning Thief ⚡🌩️ Now that its been around a month since the production has closed, I want to share the poster I made and some of my experience stage managing for @anticlubtheatreclub 's Winter Production, The Lighting Thief! I'm very passionate about theater and have been involved with it for a long time but now being in such an intensive animation program, it's been difficult to make time for actually being in productions. Before Lighting Thief I was curious about stage management, thinking I would do it eventually but when they needed a stage manager I thought I might as well do it, and I'm very glad I did! As a stage manager I would not have figured out what I was doing and how to do it without the guidance of @jordan_yardena ! 🔫☠️ Stelios Skeleton ☠️🔫 Stelios is the nonspeaking skeleton of a man who can't remember who he was in life. In undeath, he's a gunslinging drag king who performs under the name Deadshot Dick. He works under a management that sells him as a spectacle, a freak of nature, this is him outside of costume. Over the summer I wanted to serious commit to designing a character, and this is him. He means a lot to me and although I don't have any specific story project in mind, I think it may be fun to eventually make a comic with him. He's a stupid character and an incredibly self-indulgent design and I love him dearly for it. I wanted to design their human form as well but my laptop broke before I got to it! I think it would be fun to try and designing that after my Vis Dev class now that I've already learnt so much from it Please ask me any questions if you have any I'd love to answer them! Immortal Interlude: An Eternal servant craves a life that cannot be and a death that will not come. As some of you know, I made a short eight page comic over the summer. This is my post about it! Please check it out, link on my IG page and kofi! These are sample pages, if you are interested it is up for free for a week on my kofi, afterwords it'll be $5. The PDF has the comic itself and then an additional ~8 pages of progress art such as thumbnails and character design work. I learned a lot while making this, and I still have far more to learn, but I had a lot of fun. I think I'd like to experiment more with comics in the future. 🌴✨ Summer of SHM 2024 Drawings ✨🌴 I like collecting my drawings and keeping my Instagram organized for the time being so here's all of the daily sketches I did for #summerofSHM24 ! I did about half of the prompts, done daily when I had a neat idea and/or the time to execute. See the story highlight for some of my thoughts on each image. With summer winding down, it's been pretty hectic, between working job, going to gym, art projects and dealing with life curve balls. I know it's going to be an even busier fall, but I look forward to all I'm going to do then! Many new people to meet and friends to connect with again. 🎊🍕 MY LAST POSTER! 🍕🎊 Here is my second and final mock poster for SHM graphic designer! April SHMeeting. If you haven't seen my first poster or campaign poster go to my profile to check them out! This ones a little more straight forward as I wanted to create a poster that you could imagine seeing around the art building now because the April SHMeeting is this week. Topic wise this poster stems from two things, my desire to create a fun and cute image surrounding SHM itself, and the suggestion from a friend about making a SHM mascot. I love them a lot but they don't have a name yet so I'm taking suggestions, the little SHM creatures I like to call SHMbies though because SHM + babies cause they are little. Visually, I wanted to contrast in color and mood from the previous poster so I made this one bright and colorful. I really like the textured look of the Link Between Worlds art assets and how Michelle Fus and Dominik Mayer use color so I took some inspiration from them as well. ☠️📝 MY FIRST POSTER???☠️📝 It's about time I share what I have been working on!!! Here is my first mock poster for SHM graphic designer! September 14F :]] I figured with each poster I can talk a little about my thought process and approach behind them. Fun transparency and I get to ramble, yay! So it's April.. why September 14F? Why Skeleton? From the start with my posters I knew I wanted to have contrasting approached in terms of the mood conveyed. Something along the lines of stress / relief, hope / despair. I also knew I wanted to make something really cool versus something really cute. So for this one, the base idea was I wanted to make something stressful/cool. Beyond "making something cool" and thinking what is cool to me, my original idea was "A skeleton works itself beyond death, surrounded by other skeletons grasping at it". In the process it shifted towards "The skeleton persists, drawing still, no matter what pulls them away". It draws a lot from how I feel about art, that I want to draw no matter what happens, no matter how bad things may get. Why September? Since this is a mock poster I get to work backwards a little, 14F's get a lot of creative freedom, and normally I wouldn't get to choose the month. At first one would think, yes, skeleton, October, perfect spooky. I felt that was a little too on the nose, and went with September as I still want a Fall month and September to me is when things in a semester really start to pick up. Visually, I wanted almost greyscale to contrast with the bright and lively colors of the next poster. The clear and readable composition is inspired by works from Kamome Shirama, Shin-ichi Sakamoto and his team, as well as Haruko Ichikawa. The dithering effect is also inspired by corru.observer (@/CorruWorks), particularly the city because I think about it a lot.
