“The Author this, the Author that…HELLO??? What about us Figments?!?!” Join us and take a time step into our imaginations to discover the stories of the Figments… “A Journey Home” is the stand-alone prequel to the show-stopping “What If?”
Under the direction of Ashlyn Bolton, Tampa Bay Taps hits the stage to present an original show, ‘A Journey Home’. Tampa Bay’s premier tap companies Rhythm and Sole and the Youth Tap Crew are joining forces once again with the star-studded Tampa native band NIGHTBREAKERS.
‘A Journey Home’ takes place in the Jaeb Theater at the Straz Center on June 14th, 2026 at 6:30pm.
In this performance of ‘A Journey Home’ audience members will jump into the world of imagination.
“Hello? Can I get a Connection?” The Dancing Figments of our Imagination return; to tell their own story. In a land of hope and desperation the Figments have to navigate twists and turns in hopes to find a community of friendship. In the end, the Figments discover ‘Home’ is the friendships built along the way.
The prequel to the story of ‘The Author’ and his ‘Dancing Figments’ you will get to explore the Figments’ lives before they met; and what it took for the Figments to unite as one community.
Tying together tap dance and storytelling the cast will bring fast footwork and moving performance qualities while collaborating with musicians for a full concert spectacle. ‘A Journey Home’ will spark your imagination as the Figments learn how important it is to lean on their community of friendship.

ONE MONTH COUNTDOWN! 📣 Rhythm and Sole and the Youth Tap Crew have been hard at work learning our brand new show, “A Journey Home.” We are excited to start piecing it together this weekend. The Companies have collectively learned 26 pieces of new choreography the past two months.
