We are thrilled to announce the launch of The Rhapsode Ensemble ✨ Formed by a group of close collaborators working across the opera, concert and song worlds, the ensemble brings together a shared passion for storytelling through text and music. Our aim is to establish ourselves as a leading vocal ensemble, touring the UK and performing at festivals across the country and beyond. Our first outing takes place on Wednesday 4 March at 7.30pm, in an intimate salon setting inside a beautiful London townhouse, followed by drinks and canapés. ✨ Introducing our next artist: Bethany Horak-Hallett ✨ Mezzo-soprano Bethany Horak-Hallett is widely praised as one of Britain’s outstanding young singers, admired for the beauty and stillness of her light mezzo voice, alongside a natural charm, vigour and sparkling line. Operatic highlights include Glyndebourne, Garsington Opera, Opéra national de Paris and the Royal Swedish Opera. Festival appearances include the BBC Proms, Oxford International Song Festival, Ludlow English Song Weekend and Valletta International Baroque Festival. She has performed at major international venues including Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, the Elbphilharmonie, Berliner Philharmonie and Het Concertgebouw. Her work is regularly broadcast on BBC Radio 3, with recordings for the Academy of Ancient Music and Delphian Records. Bethany studied at Trinity Laban and Leeds University, and is an alumna of the OAE Rising Star scheme and the Samling Artists Programme.

✨ Introducing our next artist: Ian Tindale ✨ Pianist Ian Tindale is celebrated for his responsive, assured playing and his articulate, sensitive partnership with singers, making him one of today’s most in-demand collaborators in song and recital. Concert appearances include Wigmore Hall (London), Het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Palau de la Música (Barcelona) and Salle Bourgie (Montréal), with festival highlights at the Edinburgh International Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, Oxford International Song Festival and Ludlow English Song Weekend. Ian regularly broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Two. His recordings include Love’s Lasting Power and A Short Story of Falling (with Harriet Burns, Delphian), and Little Wanderer (with Nick Pritchard, Signum), named MusicWeb International Recording of the Year.

✨ Introducing our next artist: Liam Bonthrone ✨ Scottish tenor Liam Bonthrone is consistently praised for his stylish, incisive musicianship and warm Rossinian tenor with an impressively open top, bringing brightness and flexibility to performances across opera and concert stages throughout Europe. Operatic highlights include Royal Ballet & Opera, Glyndebourne, Bayerische Staatsoper, Oper Köln, Royal Danish Opera and GöteborgsOperan, with concert appearances alongside the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Pears and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. Liam trained with the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper and the International Meistersinger Akademie, he is a Samling Artist. He studied at Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. His recordings include Soirée Parisienne (Linn), Stainer’s Crucifixion (Delphian), and Bernstein’s Candide (LSO Live). We’re delighted to welcome him to the collective. ✨🎶

✨ Introducing our next artist: Jolyon Loy ✨ British-Irish baritone Jolyon Loy is praised for his charismatic stage presence, thrilling dramatic directness, and the mellow seductiveness of his voice, bringing a compelling immediacy to performances across opera, concert and song. Operatic highlights include appearances with Royal Ballet & Opera, English National Opera, Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Grange Park Opera and Wexford Festival Opera, alongside concert performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Cambridge Philharmonic. Jolyon trained at the National Opera Studio, Verbier Festival Atelier Lyrique, Royal Academy of Music and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. His recordings include Songs from Faust (Champs Hill) and Apollo in Eccles’ Semele (AAM Records), the latter a Gramophone Award nominee. We’re delighted to welcome him to the collective.

✨ Introducing our first artist: Alexandra Lowe ✨ Spanish-born British soprano Alexandra Lowe is celebrated for her assured technique and nuanced performances across opera, concert and recital. Concert appearances with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and Kraków Philharmonic Notable roles include the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) and First Lady (Die Zauberflöte). Alexandra is a graduate of the Jette Parker Artists Programme and her debut album Le Voyage (Champs Hill Records) was nominated for the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2024.
