Basera is four today ❤️
A space created simply to breathe. A home built for living slowly, honestly and raw. Like its namesake, Rhaen Basera has never been just a physical place, it has been my refuge.
A shelter where I could pause, heal, prepare, fail, and begin again. For four years, these walls have held me when I needed space the most. Four years of becoming more than a house, but becoming home.
And most of all, a space for art.
These walls have held silences, chaos, songs, dance, theatre and dreams that are still finding their shape. Basera is a living thing, it moves and evolves with every act of creation. As the structure also evolves, I am so excited to open these doors wider, and for people to hopefully find a "thikana" in our Basera.
May this space always remain truthful, innocent, curious, imperfect and alive with creation.
Happy Birthday to the place that gave me peace.
