Day 3 of filming for Tiny House Revival 🎬 The client is officially in town… which means everything just got very real. 1.5 days to go. A to-do list that keeps growing. And one very accurate summary of the current state: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (1.5 DAYS LEFT) Somewhere in the middle of it all, John Weisbarth is fully committed to speaking Spanish now (and honestly… we’re impressed 😂), Zack is carpenting nonstop, and we are making sure is all done by Saturday, every tiny detail suddenly feels like it carries the weight of the whole reveal 😅

Day one of filming for Tiny House Revival 🎬 Equal parts chaos, craftsmanship, and… goats 🐐 We’re racing against the clock toward Saturday’s final reveal! the kind of deadline that doesn’t wait for perfection, only progress. There are still pieces missing, details to solve, and moments where the stress definitely shows… but somehow, the energy on site keeps us moving. Zack Giffin is already bringing some incredible elements to life, while John Weisbarth has fully stepped into his carpenter era…focused, hands-on, and feeling the pressure right alongside us. It’s not polished. It’s not easy. But it’s real… and honestly, we’re having a lot of fun in the middle of it all. Let’s see what we can pull off by Saturday 👀 #tinyhome #tinyhouse #tinyhouserevival

After a year of blood, sweat, tears, slow motion jumping off tiny house stoops, reveal deadlines, and fun on set we're putting this crowd-funded tiny show out to the masses on youtube! Thanks to all our supporters on patreon and build partners who are the only reason we have come so far and the only reason John has an excuse to turn on his hollywood voiceover skills for trailers like this one! Check out two 50-minute episodes dropping tomorrow, Friday Nov. 21 on our youtube channel!

Enter tiny houses - it was about a year ago that I, @samgiffinfilm @zackgiffin and @johnkweisbarth lost our minds and decided to make a broadcast quality TV show, just the 4 of us. The plan was simple - two hosts, two filmmakers, how could we fail? We would have failed for sure if it wasn't for all the tiny house community that Zack and John had cultivated during something like 80 episodes of their run doing the popular show, "Tiny House Nation" (currently on disney and netflix) This community jumped in and a whole bunch of people joined our patreon to fund our shoots. Thanks to all our patreon members and our brave builder sponsor partners like @lifescapebuilders foxietinyhomes @anabellamainetti who had the vision that this was going to work... here we are finally premiering on youtube tomorrow, Friday Nov. 21 with two 50 minute episodes! It's been an adventure - check out the episodes, link in description, they're a lot of fun!!!

Old buddies since 3rd grade! Our new movie is coming out soon on Ryan Van Duzer's youtube channel! I like to call it a Duzer biopic:) We spent the last several months digging through Ryan's archives to tell what really turned out to be the story of a mother and son, following dreams, endurance and blessings in disguise! Thank you, Duz, for sharing your life, your weaknesses as well as your super-human strength, and inspiring us to... drum roll... GET OUT THERE! (photo by @lokiandlita :)

I’d never made a film before that took place 100% in built sets and most of them otherworldly like the tomb where Jasper Lives. It was a rare treat to have the two men behind the sets and props, production designers Marc Slanger and Richard Lieberman at our home turf premiere, NYC. Congrats to you two for building a world that won at @harlemfilmfest Richard literally spent a week in a 40s era mausoleum building our set and mark created five different interiours from poetry club to cozy west village apartment in our producer’s pingpong club (off hours.) This is how it’s done. Indy cinema at it’s finest! From details like flamingos on Jasper’s mausoleum “patio” to Marc’s timeless “protection” dispenser, apparently used on other productions down the road, these are all priceless details. Also big ups to @mattvidalis for doing the art for Jasper’s book of poetry and the memorable credits illustrations, which also work as an evocative coda to the movie. Thanks, guys, this was a crafty picture! #shortfilm #props #productiondesign #productiondesigner #art #design #cinema #movies #motionpicture #cultclassic #timeless #timelessdesign #sets #setdesign #setdesigner #propmaking #propstyling

I wanted to honor our camera team for the win @harlemfilmfest , Cinematographer and co-creator Jack Shanahan, who pulled off a fantastical and timeless look with vintage anamorphic lenses and his impeccable style -- Cinematographer Charlie Williams for creating the gritty starving artist feel in the story’s prologue, Lucas Millard for being a co-creator who came up with the characters’ names not to mention shooting some key pickups, and Denez for his late-night steadycam work and long nights shooting critical story pickups. Thank you all!!! #shortfilm #filmmakinglife #screenwriter #storytime #storytelling #onset #cinematography #cameradept #cameradepartment #red #fantastical #cinema #movies #moviemaking #moviemakers #dp #directorofphotography

Congrats to Alexandra and Amaly on their winning performance @harlemfilmfest ! Here are two scenes from their masterful and hilarious work. Amaly perfectly played Jasper's put-together partner who doesn't really support the idea of him straight-up moving full time to a crazy squat in the cemetery across the river. She makes a great case for the insanity of this idea in her FULLY IMPROVISED performance! But Jasper follows his heart and makes the move. This leads him ultimately to the eccentric and highly open-minded "Tatyana" played by Alexandra. And go Alexandra, holding a convincing and charming character accent throughout! Thank you, two for making us suspend disbelief even in the most outlandish of stories.

I went through a considerable fiasco/adventure to get this suit, which I'd love to share here. I had seen this suit from @hm online and was like, "That's the one." I'm thinking there are 10 H&Ms in NYC, so no rush. Of course I leave this till day of the event and I'm running to Columbus Circle 5hrs before to find this exact suit. I get there and of course, they don't have it. So I run to apparently the biggest outlet at Rockefeller Center. And, boom, I see the jacket! There are three on the rack and one is my size! But pants? I scour the store. Nope, no pants, just the jackets. Now I'm sweating. It's like 3hrs till the event, I need an hour to get uptown. I look for a different suit, but nothing is working. OK, times square is a 10 minute run from there, so I hustle, run up the bike lane, scramble. I get in there, pray to the H&M gods... Doesn't look like they have it. So I look harder, I ask around, I check the sale rack, YES! I see the jacket! It's my size! How about the pants? Another high-stakes search through the store and... I see them. I see that teal. It's squished between all the random sale stuff on hangers. And it's... the right size! I try it on, I was right, best suit ever, 55 bucks total😂. Grab my power necklace this Mountain lion crazy asymmetrical eyed masterpiece of jewelry by @trollbindemagic , that's right, and race uptown. The color of the suit is like, aqua-teal, I have no idea, but it matched the afterparty sidewalk furniture which, obviously, is auspicious.

Just got the news, we won the "Uptown Award" for Shorts with @harlemfilmfest ! Why are we sooooo grateful to the festival directors for this amazing experience? Because of all places to screen the movie, Harlem is where our star/producer's filmmaking roots are and the NYC big screen is our dream venue for the quintessential NYC starving-artist magical romcom that is "The Obituary of Jasper James"😂. (trailer in bio) All our filmmaker friends worked on it and thanks to @harlemfilmfest we finally had a chance to see it ALL TOGETHER on the big screen and even celebrate our first festival win on home turf! Independant films like this one made by a only a handful instead of hundreds take forever to shoot, edit, revise, master, submit to festivals. Often the people who work so hard on them never even get to see them with an audience in a theater. But thanks to everybody's hard work and the festival's eye, it happend for us and it was magical! And a big shout out to Bill Mack senior, at far left, our original Harlemite and star of our upcoming documentary!
