Taiwan DTP Trail 43 km, 3,630m+ 🥉 Arrived Saturday, raced Sunday, and just showed up. It is what it is. BUT this is definitely a race you need to prepare for. Tough, technical terrain that will really beat the life out of you. Grateful for all the people I met during this race especially Lin, who helped me from race registration all the way to picking me up at the airport and bringing me to the race venue. From being welcomed by the race crew to sharing a memorable dinner over a Taiwanese hot soup (I forgot the name 😅), the hospitality was unreal. One major takeaway from this trip and race: Taiwanese people are incredibly kind, accommodating, and friendly. Even after the race, while roaming around Taipei, people were always ready to help whenever they noticed you might be lost or unsure about something. So yeah, if you’re looking for a race to properly kick your ass before the year ends, this one’s definitely worth trying. @hoka_philippines @tailwindnutritionph

When your Mama says she wants to go to Taiwan, you go to Taiwan. Just had to find a way to squeeze in some trail running before I officially became her full-time tour guide, researcher, navigator, photographer, and porter, so signed up for an unplanned race. Still, I’m grateful to have taken on this 41KM race with 3,500m+- of nonstop climbing on Taiwan’s technical trails. This is a kind of race that you really need to be prepared for. Yet another strong reminder to always respect the distance, the terrain, and the mountain. Thank you so much to Lin for making this late reg possible and assisting me from the airport to the race venue. I'm so grateful for your kindness 🙏🏾. And of all the people I met during the race. Maybe I’ll come back to this race better prepared. But for now, I’m more than ready to be Mama's part-time tour guide, creating memories together, on this Taiwan trip. 💛 P.S: Ayoko muna ata ng races na kailangan ng jacket at leggings.

As 2025 comes to a close, I’m looking back not just at the finish lines, but at the people, places, opportunities, and quiet moments along the course that shaped me. Grateful for the kind souls I met along the way (deserves a separate thank-you post). Some were strangers who became brief but meaningful chapters; others stayed longer and reminded me that kindness, in any language or terrain, feels the same. Every encounter left its mark, restoring my faith in people and in the goodness that still exists everywhere. I’m equally thankful for the new places I ran through and discovered. Each destination offered more than scenery; it offered perspective. From unfamiliar streets to quiet trails, these places reminded me how big the world is and how small my worries can feel when I stay present. This year also opened doors to new opportunities, some planned, others completely unexpected. Each one asked me to step outside my comfort zone, trust my training, and say yes even when fear was present. Most importantly, I’m grateful for the new versions of myself I met on the course. I found a self that was braver, more patient, and more willing to push through discomfort and uncertainty. I learned that growth isn’t always loud or dramatic, sometimes it looks like slowing down, choosing rest, or continuing forward when quitting feels easier. 2025 wasn’t a perfect race, but we finished strong. Let’s get it, 2026! ✨🏃‍♀️
