Keith Carne has spent years shaping sound from behind the drum kit, but his latest chapter brings him into sharper focus as a bandleader and composer. His debut solo album ‘Magenta Light’, out as of April 20th, 2026, feels like a natural expansion of a career built on versatility and curiosity. The record leans into contrast, balancing dense, almost chaotic bursts of rhythm with moments of calm that feel wide open and reflective. For many listeners, Carne is best known as the longtime drummer for indie pop mainstays We Are Scientists, a role he has held for over a decade.
