This week was possibly the most incredible week of my life. Met a bunch of great friends in a new place, had a blast wrestling and working with CWF, but the coolest part of the week blows my mind.
During our boot camps at the school, I met two young men, Nic and Sasha, who showed so much enthusiasm for the boxing portion, working their butts off and reminding me of my days in the club with one of the most influential men in my life, Bobby Bland.
Bobby was not only an incredible boxing coach, but he was one of the most fun ones too. The term âoutgoingâ doesnât even start to describe his personality. Singing, dancing, cracking jokes. He brought me out of my shell, and the best gift he gave me, wasnât just skills in boxing. The best thing he gave me, was confidence. A lot of the good parts of me, are Bobby.
So this week when I saw that enthusiasm, I was overcome with pride to see I sparked a flame. The boys were begging to train more and asking where they can buy hand pads and gloves. I didnât waste a minute, I secretly ordered them a set and that night at our live event, I brought them in, told the sold out crowd all about them and revealed their soon to arrive gift. These boys jumped and yelled like they just got called down on the price is right.
I also mentioned on mic to the audience, that these boys could benefit from a club in town and if thereâs anyone willing to sponsor them, nowâs the time, cause they deserve it!
Last night I was hanging with a bunch of my new friends and a young man walked in to hang out. A friend of my new pals, and he said something that literally brought a tear to my eye. Heâs starting the paperwork to get the funding for the club in their town. Bobby inspired me as a kid, and those kids reminded me, that lead to me speaking something out into the universe and it came true.
I donât speak publicly often about my spiritual beliefs, but thank you god. What a way to cap of one of the best weeks of my life. đ
