Happy MET Monday.
I can't state how thrilled I am about this theme. I had been so excited about this theme from day one and I can wait to see the carpet tonight but most especially the Exhibition at the
@metmuseum
I unfortunately couldn't organise my thoughts and research into a more profound essay so I ended up making this post with slides. It may not be my best work for now but at least you get to learn more about the theme. I just loved how heavily influenced the theme was by Nigerians and how I could see my past and present while reading the amazing book.
I promise to do better with my editorial for
@jjbespoke titled : 'The Ijaw Dandies', where I explored the beauty and exageration of the Ijaw men's approach to fashion and style. I believed this theme was very relatable to everyone not just Africans in diaspora as Prof Monica Miller had rightfully said. Do well to check out
@jjbespoke__ within the month for the editorial. I had so much fun putting it together and I am thrilled to show it to you all. Big thanks to the Creative Director for letting me Express myself using his pieces I am forever grateful for the opportunity.
Till then, a shoutout to
@dapperdanharlem for being a beacon that has gone full circle round the world, your struggles were not in vain , cant wait to see you pulling the stops tonight.
This is specially dedicated post-humously to
@andreltalley for his work in international fashion and for being my number one inspiration in my new race in the fashion industry.
