The inspiration for this series came from a few months of deep-rooted self-discovery and introspection. As I have gotten older, my viewpoints on both religion and Americana have shifted greatly while living in the South; where the two concepts seem to be greatly intertwined. After talking with my grandmother about her time growing up in the deep Louisiana south, I put these concepts into perspective. I brought it to life in the best way I knew how. She said that for us (people that look like me and you), we are not always given an opportunity to grow our wings and fly; especially since many of the ones she knew never could. Niggas like you and me are all angel babies brought here to save the world.
