I am so grateful to have been part of making @aidanfine debut ‘Ed’s Sun’. Being in collaboration has been so transformative personally and the music is so special too!
Aidan connected with me through our shared studio space and really loved my own debut album and asked me to come on board as a session songwriter in the pre-production stage, which then eventuated to sessions in studio recording guitars, vocals, bass, violin and saxophone.
Making music with Aidan and Smurgy was like a sacrament for creativity.
Each session began in ritual of mediation, visions and a drum beat.
The music flowed so easy in a space that was an invitation to be entirely myself and to create through intuition. The process of creating this album reminded me of the joy of collaboration and the sense of empowerment I received through trusting this process was completely life altering for me. Aidan is a special artist in that not only does he love the music but he brings people together to do their best work so he can do his best work and most importantly we lift each other up and learn about ourselves and the world. I believe when we’re empowered and encouraged to create from our authentic selves the music will show up for it and will shine. I’m so glad I was asked to show up for Aidan.
Ive met so many amazing and loving people that I’m proud to call friends. These friends have really contributed to my reclaimed sense of self believe. Thank you @aidanfine and everyone involved.

Raise Your Bell! (Christmas EP) was recorded and released all in the span of 3 days before Christmas 2016. The songs were my a gift to a good friend’s mother, who hosted christmas for us both while I was away from home. Since then I actually completely forgot these songs until like two days ago 🙈
I made it so long ago but I was surprised the mixes are nice and the arrangements are fun. Alongside Pōhutukawa, I round this EP out to an even 4. 4 (mostly) original Christmas songs. I’m coming for you @sufjan@asthmatickittyrecords

Gonna upload some music tomorrow for the holiday season. As usual it’s from the vault circa 2019 and it was recorded in my old room pictured on Te Atatu Peninsula with a single 421 🌲🎄 I based the chord progression on this song by the Buena Vista Social Club which is truly caramelising
