What’s the difference between PR, marketing, and sales? Carrie Hill, Chief Architect of CHill Consulting, joined us on the podcast to set the record straight: 🗣️ PR is all about creating human connections and sharing the “why” behind the “what.” 🎯 Earned media is where trust and engagement thrive—it’s not about ad spend; it’s about authenticity. 💲While PR can have an indirect impact on sales over time, if your goal is an immediate revenue boost, marketing and sales should be your focus. Check out the full episode for more insights from Carrie Hill on the power of Public Relations.

Maybe you're afraid of failure. Maybe you feel inadequate. Maybe imposter syndrome is holding you back. Brigitte Madrian, Dean of @byumarriottschool , said it best: "Somebody has to be a trailblazer, why not you? Everyone brings their own lived history and experience and perspective." The next time doubt creeps in, don’t shrink. Instead, ask yourself: "If not me, then who?"

It’s easy to get emotionally invested in our ideas. We love them, so naturally, others will too—right? Unfortunately, that mindset often leads to poor decision-making and prevents us from thinking critically. When recounting her experiences, Lindsey shared an important lesson: “Sometimes you have to take the emotions away and just be logical about the decisions you make.” So how can you adopt a more logical approach when it comes to running your business? 1. Data, data, data: Talk to your customers and listen to their feedback. What they tell you will provide clarity on whether your idea truly solves their problems or if it needs adjustment. 2. Seek unbiased advice: A mentor can be a powerful asset. Choose someone who won’t let emotions cloud their judgment and who can give you honest, actionable feedback without attachment to your idea. 3. Challenge yourself with alternatives: Take a step back and brainstorm other solutions to the same problem. By exploring different angles, you’ll be able to evaluate whether your idea is truly the best option or if you’re too emotionally attached to see its flaws. Have you ever let emotions guide your decisions? How did you refocus and get back on track?
