Yesterday, we took an important step forward for the future of our democracy. I was proud to stand alongside my colleagues in the House as we passed HB4339—the Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. Young Voter Empowerment Act. Their partnership and shared commitment made this moment possible, and I am deeply grateful for their support in helping realize Reverend Jackson’s enduring legacy. This bill is about more than policy—it is about ensuring the next generation leaves high school not only with a diploma in hand, but with the tools and opportunity to make their voices heard at the ballot box. While we celebrate this milestone, our work is not done. I look forward to seeing HB4339 advance in the Senate, bringing us one step closer to making this vision the law of the land.

💫 Kim Burrell’s moving performance of “take me to the king “Honoring Rev.Jesse Jackson. @kimburrelllove @davidandtamela @revjjackson Luke 18:1~8 ,presents the parable of the persistent widow, where Jesus teaches his disciples to pray consistently and never give up.it contrasts an unjust, uncaring judge who finally grants a widow justice to avoid her”incessant pestering “with God,who will swiftly bring justice to his chosen ones. ~ lyrics ~ Take me to the king, I don’t have much to bring,my heart is torn in pieces, It’s my offering! Truth is,I’m tired, options are few I’m trying to pray, but, where are you? I’m,all churched out, hurt and abused. I can’t fake, what’s left to do? Truth is ,I’m weak . No strength to fight,no tears to cry, even if I tried. But still my soul, refuses to die. One touch-will change my life! Take me to the king,I don’t have much to bring. My heart is torn in pieces,it’s my offering! Lay me at the throne, leave me there alone. Gaze upon your glory and sing to you this song. Please take me to the king! Truth is,it’s time,to stop playing games. We need a word, for the people’s pain! So,lord speak now,let it fall like rain! We’re desperate,we’re chasing after you! No rules,no religion! I’ve made my decision,to run to you ! The healer that I need !! Take me to the king ,I don’t have much to bring. My heart is torn in pieces,it’s my offering Luke 18:1-8, is a parable often interpreted as an encouragement to maintain faith and prayer during difficult times, suggesting that persistent prayer is key to spiritual combat. The song “take me to the king is a worship song by gospel singer tamela Mann, released in 2012.it is a prayerful plea that acknowledges the singer’s brokenness and her need for God’s intervention in her life. The repetitive chorus “take me to the king is a cry for God’s mercy and grace. In first verse, the singer reveals her emotional turmoil and her awareness that she has nothing to offer but a heart that is broken and yearning for God’s presence.she is tired ,hurt and feels trapped ,turning to God with sense of defeat, admitting that she does not have the strength or energy to pray. #tamelamann #kimburrell #cecewinans #marvinsapp
