🗞️🔥 FEBRUARY’S LOCAL IS HERE 🔥🗞️ This month’s issue moves fast and asks big questions. About power: who has it, who resists it, and what happens when people refuse to stay quiet. About memory: what gets celebrated, what gets erased, and who insists on telling the full story anyway. About how history lives not just in textbooks and monuments, but in art, fashion, meals, neighborhoods, and the choices we make right now. You’ll find practical ways to show up, reminders of what’s at stake, and space to breathe — with art, advice, wildlife weirdness, and some delightfully demented Missed Connections to keep things balanced. It’s a winter issue with teeth and heart. 👍Digital edition link in bio. Or grab a free print copy IRL — check the map for pickup spots. 📢 FUN FACT: Unlike digital media, newspapers can make it look like you’re busy reading even when you’re secretly eavesdropping on a really good conversation.

🗞️❄️ JANUARY’S LOCAL IS HERE ❄️🗞️ The new year kicks off with a mix of hard questions, small comforts, and big thoughts to chew on. Inside this month’s issue, we’re looking at power and accountability: what happens when budgets get tight, and how policy changes ripple through everyday life. There’s also plenty of Philly ingenuity on display — neighbors fixing things, finding workarounds, and building community in practical, unexpected ways. You’ll also find winter wildlife weirdness 🌨️, a groundbreaking book set in Germantown📖 , a fresh start for a brainy favorite on the city’s food scene 🍕🧠, and a reminder that sometimes the best connections happen on a leash, one Sunday at a time 🐕🐩🧑‍🤝‍🧑🤝 . Plus all your familiar favorites: original art, Ask Athena, real estate roundup, police report, local events, and our famously freakish Missed Connections. ⛄💙👀 👇 Digital edition is in the comments. Or grab a copy IRL — it’s free! Check the map for pickup spots. ✅ FUN FACT: Unlike digital media, newspapers still work when your phone battery dies in the cold. 🪫🥶

❄️✨ DECEMBER’S LOCAL HAS LANDED! ✨❄️ This month, we’re wrapping up the year with a mix of sharp truths, unexpected joys, and a few seasonal surprises. Inside you’ll find big shifts in city priorities, new sparks in Philly’s cultural scene, glimpses of wildlife where you might not expect it, and a look at neighbors stepping up when budgets get tight. We’ve also packed in festive style inspo, stories of trains past and present, and a reflection on ten years of community news the DIY way — messy, honest, and proudly homegrown. Plus all your favorites: original art, Ask Athena, real estate rundown, police report, local events, and our famously unhinged Missed Connections. 🎄💚 👇 Digital edition is in the comments. Or snag a copy IRL — it’s free! See our map for pickup spots. 🎁 FUN FACT: Unlike digital media, newspapers never ask you to “accept cookies,” which leaves more room for the real ones.

🥧🍂🦃 PASS THE PIE — NOVEMBER’S HERE! This month’s edition is all about what holds us together: neighbors, traditions, and maybe a little drama when the stuffing hits the fan. You’ll find courage that starts small and grows loud, wisdom that shows up in unlikely places (including a vulture or two), and reminders that even in a messy world, there’s still plenty worth saving — and savoring. With all your familiar favorites: original art, Ask Athena, local real estate, and a hearty helping of Missed Connections — sweet, strange, and half-baked as always. Check the comments for the digital edition 👇👇👇Or grab a copy IRL — it’s free!
