Super awesome finally having @giantjulie in the studio! Wholly talented musician and engineer, was great to put a few pieces of gear that had sat dormant for a while to work. Here’s some vocals going through @veternikaudio and @empath_electronics pedals on a classic Philips EL6033 set to Omni so they could get it right up to their mouth with no (or little) proximity bump.
me.triou in the studio today and its an absolute blast getting to hear him whirlwind across the room. Here’s a pic midway through an extended jam with studio assistant @clairefm_ lending a hand on the D&R 700 series parametric EQ. Harmonia would be jealous.

Work trip and repair drop off at the great @mfbfreaks . Everyone knows already we love our MFB 544s and N4520 tape machine. MFB freaks are an invaluable resource to Dutch audio heritage, from their forum and Facebook group to their store, repair work, events, cassette dubbing. Always a pleasure to visit and learn from the experts! Tempted to grab this cassette recorder as a proper lofi echo…anyone using their three head cassette recorder for echo?
@stevenhenrymusic came by today with his bass clarinet and some MIDI rings. We threw some eminent sounds in his laptop and let him do his thing. Love a clarinet and to see what more modern tech brings to the studio…😎
Three days with @adriaanderoover and @tashapirard who came all the way from Belgium to experiment and see what happens, combining Natasha’s penchant for tape and tape loops with Adriaan’s gloomy melancholic sound. A great pairing and a very productive few days…!
Fun fact: we first worked with Adriaan 10 years ago while he went by Oaktree for one of our compilations with Fog Mountain records and we met Natasha at our workshop during Resonance, our event at the Stephenskerk in Nijmegen we did with @rewirefestival in 2019…!
A unique ‘ensemble’ of instruments and equipment took place at ESNS. Beeld & Geluid | Studio RE:VIVE tells the story of Dutch tools that (sometimes literally) wrote history in music.
