“During the residency in Ithaca, my purely photographic work developed in relation to the features that make the island unique: its landscape and its myth. The wind acts as a sonic and material force: it moves fabrics, hair, and bodies, alters the perception of the environment, and becomes an active element in the images. The sea evokes the hybrid life of the sirens, winged and aquatic, whose metamorphosis from birds to fish leaves traces that I seek beneath the surface.
The intense and bright sunlight creates a glare that affects the camera and opens a space for revelation, where the visible and the invisible coexist in the images. This excess of light allows me to rewrite history, reveal ancient traces, and feel how these symbolic presences resonate in the body today, creating a meeting point between the ancient myths and contemporary bodies.”
Her Return
The exhibition “Her Return” explores the notion of return as a multidimensional experience: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Return is not presented here as a final destination, but as a continuous, recurring movement.
The works draw inspiration from The Odyssey, not as a narrative of a heroic journey, but as a network of experiences and re-entries.
