2024 was an unforgettable year that allowed me to truly āDiscover Your Koreaāāits culture, its people, and the stories that connect us. While many are drawn to the glitz of K-pop and K-dramas, my most meaningful discovery this year came from a small business in Scarborough.
Eemo and Steve, former owners of @chickenplus.ca at Midland-Finch, left a lasting impression on me. Beyond serving some of the best Korean fried chicken in Scarborough, they created a warm, welcoming space where their generosity and passion made every visit feel special.
Though theyāve returned to Korea, their kindness reminds me that Korean culture isnāt just about food or entertainmentāitās about the people who bring it to life. Small businesses like theirs are cultural bridges, helping us āDiscover Your Koreaā through meaningful connections and everyday moments right here in Canada.

Iām not exactly fluent, but I navigate bisaya/cebuano while studying new languages like Japanese and Korean. After what feels like an academic eternity, Iām finally stepping into the excitement of what it means to be truly living.
With the mix of gaming adventures, musical discoveries, and the amazingness of food adventures, I find myself constantly on my toes with a myriad of passions.
