It takes courage to stand on a stage and share something real about yourself or something you care about. The young storytellers who told personal stories during our first Storytelling event came with different languages, backgrounds and experiences. Together they created a beautiful moment and atmosphere to learn and listen from these differences but also similarities. This evening showed that Resilient Threads is not only about events but the connections that from when people feel safe to be heard!

🎤 Open Call | Voices of Diversity: Storytelling Nights ✨ PAL Network invites organizations from European Union countries to express their interest in participating in the action “Voices of Diversity: Storytelling Nights”, which includes the organization of four (4) storytelling events. Selected organizations will enter into a formal agreement with PAL Network, outlining roles, responsibilities, and the framework for implementing the storytelling event 📄. The call is open to organizations, collectives, and entities working in the fields of culture, education, and social inclusion 🎭📚. Submission requirements: Interested organizations are invited to submit a short proposal (up to 1 page), including: • The thematic focus of the proposed event • Potential artists / storytellers who will participate • The proposed venue for implementation (e.g. cultural center, theatre, outdoor space, etc.) • A brief description of the organization’s relevant experience (if any) 📅 Submission deadline: 30 April 📧 Send proposals to: [email protected] The selected stories will contribute to the creation of an interactive digital booklet 📖✨. #PALNETWORK #VoicesOfDiversity #StorytellingNights #ErasmusPlus #ResilientThreads

On 8 April, we mark the International Day of the Romani People ✨ a day dedicated to honoring Romani history, culture, and identity, and to recognizing both the resilience and the challenges faced by Romani communities across Europe. It is a moment to reflect on the importance of dignity, equality, and inclusion, and to reaffirm our shared responsibility to stand against discrimination in all its forms. Through our European project “Resilient Threads”, we are proud to contribute to this mission by connecting stories, strengthening voices, and weaving together experiences that highlight the richness and resilience of Romani communities. This work helps foster understanding, break down stereotypes, and build stronger, more inclusive societies. We are also very proud as @smart__coop and @palnetwork__ to actively participate in this important initiative, sharing the same commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and social impact. On this day, we celebrate culture, we acknowledge history, and we commit to a future where every thread in our shared European fabric is valued and respected.

The Resilient Threads: Roma Stories Across Generations project introduces two professional toolkits to support Roma youth and cultural practitioners. These resources provide a standardised framework for advancing communication skills and preserving oral traditions. 📘 Methodology Handbook This core curriculum assists artists in advancing performance skills through six modules: - Effective Communication: Identification of the communication cycle (sender, message, feedback). - Confidence Building: Management of psychological barriers and public speaking anxiety. - Body Language: Focus on non-verbal cues and stage presence. - Impactful Storytelling: Construction of narrative arcs and emotional resonance. - Creative Writing: Bridging written text and oral performance. - Audience Understanding: Adaptation of styles for diverse listeners. 📋 Facilitator’s Guide This guide translates theory into step-by-step instructions for trainers and youth workers: - Session Flows: Precise activity instructions and timing. - Safety and Ethics: Guidance on maintaining psychological safety during personal narratives. - Pedagogical Standards: Emphasis on experiential, reflective learning. - Adaptability: Scalable exercises for workshops, classrooms, or community events. These outputs support social inclusion and the creation of positive narratives that challenge stereotypes, strengthening the connection between communities and generations. The @resilientthreads_project Bootcamp brought together 20 young artists—10 from Sweden and 10 Romani youth from across Europe—for two days of storytelling, creative writing, and intercultural exchange ✨. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative sessions, participants developed their voice, stage presence, and personal storytelling skills, while sharing experiences and perspectives across cultures. The Bootcamp also offered feedback opportunities and preparation for upcoming Storytelling Nights within the project 🎭. The activity fostered connections between Roma and non-Roma artists and engaged a diverse audience of educators, cultural institutions, NGOs, and media representatives, supporting wider collaboration within the cultural and social sectors. Initiatives like this advance the Resilient Threads project’s goals: artistic empowerment, intercultural dialogue, social connectivity, and youth development. #ResilientThreads #PALNetwork #Storytelling #RomaVoices #YouthEmpowerment #InterculturalDialogue

The second and final day of our Bootcamp has come to an end and we couldn’t feel happier and more grateful! ✨ We started the day with an inspiring visit to explore the fascinating world of Yokai — Japanese mythical creatures — at the beautiful Etnografiska museet. It was the perfect creative spark for the day ahead. Afterwards, we focused on powerful writing sessions guided by Robin Szappo, where participants had the opportunity to refine and complete their stories. The creativity and dedication in the room were truly inspiring! We were also deeply honored by a visit from the Romer i Stockholm community from the Municipality of Stockholm, as well as by Radio Romano, who conducted interviews with our participants. Their presence meant so much to all of us. Another exciting highlight of the day was recording a podcast featuring our participants’ stories — which we will be publishing very soon. Stay tuned! We also had the pleasure of a dynamic body language workshop led by Maria Lindeberg, helping participants bring even more expression and confidence into their storytelling. We ended this beautiful journey with a moving showcase of all the written stories in the stunning auditorium of Etnografiska museet. It was the perfect closing moment — filled with emotion, pride, and applause. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who made this event possible. And this is just the beginning! We’re already looking forward to announcing our upcoming storytelling nights across Europe. Stay tuned — more creative stories are on the way. 💫 The event was part of the Resilient Threads project co-funded by EU
