Margate today 💚🌊 Out supporting Rob Yates in the by-election — and what a moment it was. But this post is about leadership. @greenpartyzack is the kind of leader who doesn’t just show up — he stands with you. Every single person. Every campaign. Every story. What makes him different isn’t just the vision — it’s how he makes people feel. Seen. Heard. Valued. He remembers the journey behind the campaign, not just the headline. And when he stands behind a candidate, you feel it — the room shifts. The noise isn’t just louder
it’s united. Carrying the same message, the same purpose. Because our message is clear: The problems didn’t come in small boats — they fly above in private jets. This is about social, racial and economic justice. And it’s leaders like Zack who are not just speaking about it — but standing firmly behind those of us fighting for it on the ground. Despite a packed schedule, he still took the time to speak to me about education, Ofsted, and the urgent need to challenge a system that is no longer working. That commitment to detail, to listening, to pushing for real change — that’s what inspires me to stand with this vision. There’s honestly so much more to say
and one post isn’t enough. Some stories deserve their own space — and this is definitely one of them. For now, just know this: This is what people-powered leadership looks like 💚 Tomorrow Cliftonville is voting green and can’t wait to celebrate with Rob Yates #VoteGreen #Margate #ZackPolanski #RobYates #PeoplePowered greenfuture

Labour and Reform rely on fear, dog-whistles, and the idea that some of us should stay quiet or grateful for space. That our visibility is a problem. That our voices should be managed. I reject that. I don’t show up in Green spaces as a footnote. I show up fully — as a Muslim, as a hijabi, as an Indian woman — visible, confident, and unapologetic. That’s exactly why being out campaigning in @lewishamgreens — alongside @greenpartyzack , and in solidarity with @liamshrivastava ,Natalie, Aaron, and so many others standing — matters so much. Because this is what it looks like when we don’t just oppose Labour and Reform’s rhetoric, but beat it with representation, community, and courage. Lewisham Greens are telling a different story — one rooted in empowerment, global majority voices, and people-powered politics. Not symbolism. Not tokenism. Real leadership shaped by lived experience.

Looking forward to this event today in Medway. Events that bring communities together are essential; not just to reinforce community cohesion, but to oppose the toxicity spreading across society. So if you can, please do come and support this event.

An evening in London spent networking with the @bpf.uk discussing how we create more space for Muslims and the global majority in politics — not just in the room, but at the table where decisions are made. Always good catching up with people who genuinely care about grassroots representation. From convincing @sophina_rafique from Bolton to finally join the @thegreenparty after pestering her who also was inspired by @hannahtheplumbermcr journey, to Kausar being one step away from becoming our newest Green member 💚— the movement keeps growing in the most organic way. Then later joined by @fahima_fm , who recently stood in Kingston as a Green candidate for the first time. I really admire women who use their voice unapologetically and politically. Over Lebanese dinner, the conversations turned from reflection to future plans, community organising and what comes next. Representation doesn’t happen by accident — people have to show up, speak up and build it. Watch this space ✹

Reading this headline like: don’t threaten me with a good time. They said “paralysed by Labour chaos” - sounds about right. “they’d have to drag him out of Number 10” and thinking: finally, a sensible proposal. Drag him out!! Anyways at least the selfie ate. đŸ€ŒđŸ»

Good luck to @felixgansyer and Councillor @awakendhibs You're going to smash your first A-Level tomorrow. We all know that you're the OG youngest councillor in the country (that we know of)! It's been a heavy week for you both, but you've got this. Shatter those glass ceilings and continue to make your parents and peers proud!

A full day with the local @greenmaidstone team planning not just for the next election — but for the future of our communities 💚 With the first elections for the new unitary council replacing and on the horizon next year, the energy in the room was incredible. Strategy, campaigning, community organising, and an outstanding group of future candidates, volunteers and campaigners already stepping up. The groundwork starts now đŸŒ±

“Just a normal weekend” = watching history unfold across London while my two favourite Green boroughs both secured huge wins 💚 Could never choose between Hackney and Lewisham — both campaigns felt like home, both teams felt like family, and seeing them BOTH win was unreal. Somehow my role in politics has become: 1. turn up to campaign 2. believe a little too hard 3. end up dancing at the victory party 😭 But honestly what these teams achieved is bigger than one election night. The councillors, deputy mayors and mayoral victories coming out of @hackneygreenparty and @lewishamgreens have changed the conversation and opened the door for future Green leadership everywhere. congratulations!!! đŸ„‚ Mentioning you on the post as insta not letting me anymore tags @ablubbock @awakendhibs
