This is your reminder that it's okay to pause. It's okay to isolate when things get too heavy. It's okay to speak to someone, get the help you need, and stop performing "okay" when you're not.
Because when a part of you is blocked, you can't give of yourself fully. A release needs to happen first.

An hour before, they had already passed the table. Mom was interested. Her daughter? Not at all. She was twelve, maybe thirteen, she had other things on her mind and stopping at a vendor table was not one of them.
But mom came back. And when she did, I simply invited her daughter to colour. No pressure. No agenda. Just space. And something shifted. She started talking. Really talking. And what she shared reminded me exactly why I am building Reset for the Kids, because the need is real, it is showing up at every age, and sometimes all a child needs is the right environment to finally say out loud what they have been carrying.
Her mom was standing right there and she was just as surprised as I was. That is what this work does. Safe spaces are not always four walls. Sometimes it is a table, a coloring sheet, and someone who genuinely sees your child.

I didn't know it then, but I was already becoming her.
That little girl with the braids and the barrettes had so much inside of her that she was never given the opportunity to use her words for. She felt things deeply, even when she was advocating for others. And for a long time, a lot of people didn't know what to do with her.
But nobody could take away what was being built on the inside.
She just had to live it to understand it.
Now I stand in front of children every single day giving them what she never had — the words, the tools, the permission to feel it all and still know who they are.
