In 2025, I fought for the Bronx on the ground and in Congress, pushing for housing stability, food security, protection for immigrants, and more. Proud of what we delivered together. Onward to 2026!

ICE agents chasing people with firearms drawn in the Bronx is dangerous and unacceptable. After two disturbing incidents in Norwood, including the unjust detention of Jeury Concepcion, I’ve called on the DHS Inspector General to investigate expeditiously. This cannot stand.
As the elected officials representing this community, we are outraged by the recent actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who brutally attacked an innocent civilian in Norwood.
It is unacceptable that any member of our community under this federal administration could be targeted, profiled, and detained without consequences.
Jury Concepcion and his family will forever be traumatized by this act of injustice, along with our Norwood community.
In response to this attack and other actions by ICE in our city, we are joining the Governor and our New York State Legislators in pushing for legislation to protect New Yorkers from ICE`s aggressive enforcement tactics.
Our borough has always been a safe haven for immigrants, and we will continue to fight to ensure the rights of all members of our community are protected.
Prediction markets cannot be a backdoor for campaign insiders to profit off nonpublic polling, strategy, and fundraising data.
I will be introducing legislation to ban insider trading on political event contracts and require platforms to detect suspicious campaign-affiliated activity.

If you’re between 18-64, without children under 14, and able to work, you may need to report 80 hours a month of work, training, or volunteering to keep your benefits.
In the Bronx, the digital divide holds people back every day. I’m proud to partner with @nycmayor in securing a $2M expansion of @nychousing and @nypl ’s Neighborhood Internet program, which provides free high-speed internet services to low-income families in the Bronx.

The Court’s insidious assault on Section 2 is likely to trigger the worst collapse of minority representation since the failure of Reconstruction—not by accident but by design.
We are heartbroken by the tragic fire in Belmont that claimed the lives of two of our neighbors, including a 17‑year‑old, injured civilians and firefighters, and displaced many of our residents and their families. This fire, as well as many others that have occurred throughout our borough in recent months, is not only deeply concerning but profoundly devastating. Their impact on our communities is immeasurable and serves as a powerful call to action, attention, and support.
A special thank you to the FDNY, the NYPD, the New York City Office of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Office of Emergency Management, the Department of Buildings, the Department of Environmental Protection, Small Business Services, the American Red Cross, and all emergency personnel who worked tirelessly to protect life and ensure residents received immediate assistance. We also want to thank Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for opening its doors to accept donations from the public to support our displaced families. Our offices will continue to closely monitor the situation and will remain in contact with our city partners and the American Red Cross to support families during this difficult time.
We ask everyone to keep these families and our community in your prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss and begin the long process of recovery.
