🔥 BIG NEWS: OVRTWN CORNER IS COMING SUMMER 2025! We’re opening up a brand-new 4,000 sq ft space at NW 3rd Ave & 11th Terrace—right in the heart of Overtown. It’s called OVRTWN Corner, and it’s more than just a venue—it’s a movement to revitalize Historic Overtown’s Main Street through entrepreneurship and community. Think: marketplace, café, bar, food stalls; cultural hub—all rolled into one. A place for local entrepreneurs, artists, and community to come together and shine. ✨ Here’s what to expect: 💼 A Business Launchpad 10–15 affordable spaces for local entrepreneurs to grow and thrive. 🎶 A Cultural Hub Live music, art, and community events that celebrate the soul of Overtown. ☕ A Social Spot A café + bar + food stalls where locals and visitors can meet, chill, and build. ✊🏽 Why it matters: Too many small businesses in Miami are being priced out. We’re flipping the script—creating a space by and for the community, where Overtown’s legacy and future can thrive side by side. 👀 Want to be one of the first to set up shop at OVRTWN Corner? Join us for a virtual info session where we’ll share the vision and how you can be part of it. 📍 Zoom Info Session: Friday, April 25th at 12PM 🔗 Link in bio Let’s reclaim space. Let’s build something powerful—together. #OVRTWNCorner #OvertownMiami #entrepreneurship #MiamiCulture #smallbusiness

There’s something powerful about being in a room with people who all share the same goal. This gathering at @representovertown with @harlemchildrenszone , funders, partners, and community leaders was rooted in collaboration, shared vision, and a collective commitment to creating stronger systems for children and families. One thing this work continues to remind us is that no one organization can do it alone. Real impact happens when people come together, share resources, exchange ideas, and stay aligned around a bigger purpose for the community. We were honored to welcome @harlemchildrenszone to Overtown and grateful for the opportunity to continue strengthening this partnership. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our community, meet the organizations doing the work on the ground, and pour into conversations centered around growth, opportunity, and long-term impact. Every conversation around education, entrepreneurship, housing, mentorship, health, and culture is connected. And every investment into our youth and families helps move the entire community forward. We left this gathering feeling energized, aligned, and even more committed to the work ahead.

Building stronger organizations is part of building a stronger community. Earlier this month, OCYC partnered with the @centerforblackinnovation for Grant Writing Made Simple led by Nikki Watkins. A hands-on workshop created to help nonprofit leaders, changemakers, and community organizations better understand the funding landscape and strengthen their ability to secure resources that create real impact. From learning how to align with funders to understanding how narratives and budgets work together, attendees walked away with practical tools, real-time guidance, and a clearer understanding of how to position their work for growth and sustainability. But beyond the information, what stood out most was the energy in the room. People came ready to learn, ask questions, connect, and invest in the future of their organizations and ideas. Because moving Overtown forward means more than supporting programs. It means investing in the people doing the work every single day and making sure they have access to the knowledge, strategy, and opportunities needed to grow their impact long-term. Thank you to the Center for Black Innovation, Nikki Watkins, and everyone who joined us for an afternoon rooted in collaboration, innovation, and community growth.

Behind every moment, every activation, and every opportunity created for our youth was a network of leaders, partners, vendors, and community members who showed up with intention and purpose, From the planning to the execution, every detail was designed to create an experience that felt impactful, seamless, and meaningful. This is what true collaboration looks like because experiences like this don’t happen by chance. They happen when a community aligns, shows up, and builds something bigger than themselves. And because of that, the impact of this day will continue long after the conference ends. And as we begin looking ahead to next year, we want to hear from you. If you attended, supported, partnered, volunteered, or helped make this experience possible, tell us what stayed with you. What worked. What inspired you. What you’d love to see us build on. Your feedback helps shape what comes next and we’re already excited for what we’ll create together for I’m The Boss of My Life 2027!

You had to be in the room to truly feel it! Over 400 young people, fully present, fully engaged, and stepping into something bigger than themselves. From the moment the day began, the energy never dropped. Every session, every conversation, every interaction built on the next. They weren’t just listening, they were participating. Asking questions. Stepping up. Practicing. Connecting. Thinking about their future in real time and speaking it out loud. Across multiple breakout sessions, they explored what it means to show up confidently, communicate effectively, present themselves with intention, and move with purpose. This was hands-on, interactive, and real. Not just information, but application. In between it all, there was joy. Music. Movement. New friendships. Young people from different schools and programs coming together, expanding their networks, and seeing themselves as part of something bigger. This is what it looks like when exposure meets intention. When preparation meets opportunity. When young people are given the space to think, explore, and step into who they are becoming. A special thank you to our incredible sponsors and partners for believing in this vision and making it possible. The impact of this day does not end here. . . . . . #IAmTheBossOfMyLife #OCYC #OvertownYouth #CommunityImpact

🪅This brand new mural located at NW 3rd Avenue and 11th Terrace is bringing new energy to the 3rd Avenue Business Corridor. Artists: Claudio Picasso & Nate Dee. It was our pleasure to partner with the Overtown Business Association and Ovrtwn Corner to reenergize a brand-new facade that reflects the community and its unique mission. If you haven’t stopped by yet, what are you waiting for?! 🎨 ⭐️ #communitybeautification #facadeimprovements #seopwcra #publicart

Stepping into spaces that are built with intention always hits different ✨ Last week at the Ovrtwn Corner Community & Vendor Open House (@representovertown ). From merch stations to food vendors, bartenders, a live podcast setup, and a full stage for programming every corner was activated, every brand had space to shine ✨ But what made it even more meaningful… was where it’s happening. Building in Overtown (@overtownbiz ) isn’t just about business, it’s about legacy. It’s about choosing to pour back into a community that has always been rich in culture, talent, and history. It’s about preserving what was built for us, by us and refusing to let the narrative only highlight struggle while ignoring excellence. Even the murals on the front of the building feel like breadcrumbs small but powerful reminders of a history that’s still alive, still speaking, still guiding us forward 🙏🏽 (@miaminate x @cpwon 🎨) And with their official opening happening the week of Juneteenth… that timing feels intentional. Rooted in freedom, in culture, and in honoring everything that came before us. Spaces like this remind us that we are still here, still creating, still elevating and still honoring everything Overtown has always represented. #Overtown #BlackMiami #SupportBlackBusiness #CommunityOverCompetition #LegacyInMotion

Overtown is where it all started for me 🤎 Being part of this event with the City of Miami meant so much. It’s bigger than just a space it’s about creating opportunities for local business owners like myself to showcase our products, grow, and build something meaningful right here in Overtown. My dreams and experience were born and raised in this community, and seeing everything come full circle has me thinking… it might be time to bring it back home. This is just the beginning stay tuned ✨ Coach Dvaaa 💐💐
