I’ve been drawing letters, mostly grid-based monospaced type, for quite a while. Some for personal use, some for occasional clients. I’d been thinking about turning them into an actual font files, but the idea of learning new software and an entirely new skill set always made me put it off.
This weekend I dug up a folder of letters I drew back in 2023, exported each character as an SVG, and dropped them into ChatGPT asking for both TTF and OTF files. Now it works 🥹
Time Stretched is a visual exploration that delves into the intricate interplay of time, motion, and human perception. Consisting of 60 works in total, each image freezes a moment in a paradoxical interplay: while the surroundings stretch chaotically in time, the central figure remains unchanged, suspended in their own temporal bubble. This series resonates uniquely with each viewer, evoking personal interpretations and emotional responses. Some see it as a portrayal of dynamism and speed amidst frozen time, while others find reflections of human resilience amid societal flux, where overlapping colors symbolize our digital age woven into everyday life. Everyone finds an emotional connection, envisioning themselves moving faster or slower through time.

Last year, I went back through my Lightroom folders from 2009 to 2025 and pulled a selection of New York photos that focus on fragments and layers of the city. Building facades, bridges, signage, reflections, and all the in-between details and no people. I sequenced them as full-bleed spreads so the images sit next to each other like the city does, with old and new constantly overlapping.
I put it all into a pocket-sized book and printed a single copy.
