You’re not alone — my office is here to help.
I was glad to attend the Smoke-onos Cigar Festival showcasing the best manufacturers in the business.
Smoke-onos brings together over 1500 cigar enthusiasts and retailers to enjoy premium cigars in Northeast Pennsylvania.
Big thanks to Greg Fox, CEO of Best Cigar Prices, for hosting this fantastic festival along with Nick Perdomo, Rocky Patel, Jonathan Drew, and all the biggest names in the country for attending and supporting a great event.
This week, I met with members of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association at my office in Washington.
I was joined by family-owned and community-focused business:
Bruce Spiridonoff of Tevis Energy in Tower City, Kate Duffey of Duffey & Sons in Malvern, Amy Highhouse of Highhouse Energy in Honesdale, Quincy Longacre of Buckeye Energy in Emmaus, Jason Flohr of Edris Oil Services in York, and Ted Harris of the PA Petroleum Association in Grantville.
We discussed policies that continue to expand domestic energy production and support local communities.
This week, I participated in the Small Business Showcase at the Capitol, where I joined SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Speaker Johnson, and Small Business Committee Chair Roger Williams to discuss our work supporting small businesses nationwide.
We are helping small businesses not just with words, but with legislation like my bill, the Investing in All of America Act, which increases access to capital for entrepreneurs.
We had two outstanding small businesses from our district at the showcase, demonstrating the Commonwealth’s outsized impact on America’s economy.
Be sure to tune in to Wake Up America Early on Newsmax tomorrow at 6:15am. I’ll be joining with the latest on President Trump’s trip to China and negotiations with Iran. Make sure to tune in!
On National Scam Survivor Day, we support the victims of financial scams and raise awareness about the resources available to fight fraudsters. As Chair of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I have held multiple hearings and roundtables and published public service announcements to educate consumers about financial scams and increase cooperation to stop them.
That begins with raising awareness, but more action is necessary; we need a whole-of-society approach. Earlier this year, I introduced the SCAM Act to hold online platforms accountable for paid-for scam ads and met with federal, state, and local law enforcement to discuss how to better combat scams.
Online security has never been more important as con artists become increasingly sophisticated. Please visit meuser.house.gov/scams for more information on how to protect yourself and your loved ones from scams.
This week, I welcomed members of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors to my office in Washington.
We discussed our ongoing collaboration to improve infrastructure, government services, and revitalization projects in townships across my district. Thank you all for making the trip!
This week, I joined my colleagues in a prayer vigil on the House Steps honoring fallen law enforcement officials over the past year.
We were joined by Linsey Timmons, a Gold Shield spouse who shared the heartbreak of losing her husband, Officer Tyler Timmons, in the line of duty.
Last year, on National Police Week, the House passed my Gold Shield Families Resolution to recognize and support the loved ones of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, like the Timmons family.
Moments like this are an important reminder that law enforcement needs our support not just on National Police Week, but every single day.
I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Sean Curran, the Director of the United States Secret Service, this week. Director Curran is leading efforts to strengthen security for the President, senior officials, and major events throughout the country this year, including the World Cup and our nation’s 250th Anniversary celebrations.
Today’s environment requires the highest level of human and protective resources to protect our current President and all future presidents.
Sean and I were both in Butler, Pennsylvania, when an assassin’s bullet nearly took President Trump’s life. I appreciate his continued service and commitment to protecting the President and our country.
This morning, I’ll be joining Mornings with Maria on Fox Business at 7:20am to discuss the latest on Iran negotiations and the Senate’s upcoming vote to confirm Kevin Warsh as Fed chair.
Make sure to tune in!
National Police Week is a time to reflect on the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. As the son of a police officer, I know firsthand the sacrifices our law enforcement officers and their families make every day.
House Republicans will always back the blue by giving them the tools they need to do their jobs safely. We are passing legislation to strengthen support for our dedicated law enforcement officials and increase penalties for those who harm them.
Celebrating all the amazing moms of America today! I’m truly thankful for the incredible women in my life-my amazing mom, Maeve, my wonderful mother-in-law, Rosemary, and my beautiful wife, Shelley, who is a fantastic mother to our three kids. Happy Mother’s Day!
