Spent time in Montrose speaking with constituents who came out to share their views and concerns. Not everyone in #CO03 agrees with me, and that’s okay. Part of this job is showing up, listening respectfully, answering questions, and keeping an open mind when there is disagreement. We had a candid discussion about issues facing our district and the country, and I appreciated the opportunity to hear their perspectives firsthand.

Met with Alden Vanden Brink of the Rio Blanco Water Conservancy District to discuss long-term water infrastructure and storage needs in Northwest Colorado. We talked about the importance of maintaining reliable water resources for agriculture, local communities, and future economic stability across the White River Basin. As water storage capacity declines in parts of the region, planning for long-term reliability becomes increasingly important for rural Colorado communities like Rangely and Rio Blanco County. Water remains foundational to agriculture and the long-term future of rural communities across #CO03. I appreciate Alden’s leadership and the work being done locally to strengthen water security in Northwest Colorado.

On Armed Forces Day, we honor the men and women who wear the uniform and serve our country with courage, discipline, and sacrifice. Across #CO03 and throughout the country, service members continue to answer the call in defense of our nation, often far from home and family. Their commitment strengthens our security, protects our freedoms, and reflects the very best of America. Grateful today and every day for those serving in our Armed Forces and for the families who serve alongside them. 🇺🇸

Congratulations to #CO03 intern, Jack Welling, on earning the Boettcher Scholarship, one of Colorado’s most prestigious academic honors. Jack served constituents with professionalism, curiosity, and a strong work ethic. He represents the very best of Colorado’s next generation of leaders. I’m excited to see all he’ll accomplish at CU Boulder. #SkoBuffs Students interested in public service can contact one of our district offices to learn more about internship opportunities.

Met with the Rangely Town Council and newly appointed Town Manager Jonah Bollinger to discuss the future of this energy-producing community in Northwest Colorado. Rangely’s economy has long been built on oil, gas, and coal production, and those industries remain critical to local jobs and the regional economy. We discussed responsible energy development, permitting reform, and restoring federal mineral lease and severance distributions to producing communities. We also talked about Rangely’s efforts to expand energy opportunities through geothermal research and industrial development that build on the region’s workforce and energy expertise. America is going to need more energy, not less, and communities like Rangely are well positioned to help meet that demand. #CO03 #RioBlancoCounty

It was great to join producers, hunters, outfitters, and community members at the Circle the Wagons Social in Grand Junction, focused on protecting Western Colorado’s hunting, agriculture, wildlife management, and growing concerns surrounding wolf reintroduction efforts. People in rural Colorado are the ones living with the consequences of these decisions everyday. I remain opposed to continued wolf translocation and will continue supporting practical wildlife management, protecting water rights, and standing with the rural communities that are the backbone of the West. #CO03

Joined Rio Blanco County Commissioners Callie Scritchfield and Doug Overton, CNCC leadership, aviation faculty, and students in Rangely to celebrate $643,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending that I worked to help secure for improvements at the Rangely Airport. This funding will help modernize aging hangar, classroom, and terminal facilities used by Colorado Northwestern Community College’s aviation program, local pilots, and county operations. Investments like this strengthen workforce training, support wildfire response, and help create long-term economic opportunity in Northwest Colorado and across #CO03.

It was an honor to meet with the Artemis II crew and congratulate them on their successful lunar mission. Missions like Artemis II reflect the innovation, discipline, and determination that continue to define American leadership in space exploration. Proud that Colorado engineers played a major role in developing the Orion spacecraft that carried the crew around the moon and back. Congratulations to the entire Artemis II crew on this remarkable milestone. #CO03

Low snowpack and dry conditions will make this a challenging water year across much of the Western Slope. This week in Mesa County, I joined local water managers, ranchers, agricultural producers, Commissioner Bobbie Daniel, and Colorado River Water Conservation District General Manager Andy Mueller to discuss drought conditions, irrigation operations, and what comes next for rural Colorado agriculture. I was encouraged by the cooperation happening on the ground as communities work together to protect Colorado agriculture and strengthen long-term water reliability. I’ll keep working to support practical, locally driven solutions that help rural communities adapt and move forward. #CO03

Yesterday, I toured the Orchard Mesa Irrigation District (OMID) in Palisade with District Manager Jackie Fisher, members of the OMID Board of Directors, Colorado Farm Bureau, and American Rivers to see firsthand the infrastructure that helps deliver reliable water to communities and agriculture across Western Colorado. Jackie and I also filmed a short video at the OMID Check, an important part of managing Colorado River water operations and water rights throughout the region. We discussed the recent $12 million investment from the Department of the Interior and Bureau of Reclamation to help OMID and the Grand Valley Water Users Association convert open canals into pressurized pipelines. Across Western and Southern Colorado, reliable water infrastructure is foundational to our communities, agriculture, and local economies. Projects like these help strengthen long-term water management, improve efficiency, and make sure rural communities have the certainty and resources they need for the future. Appreciate the partnership and the important work being done to support water users across the Grand Valley and the Western Slope. #CO03

In Western and Southern Colorado, hunting is more than recreation. It supports local jobs, drives tourism, strengthens small businesses, and remains an important part of the way of life in communities across #CO03. Recently, I sat down with brothers Jim and Mark Johnson, owners and operators of Elk Glade Ranch Outfitters, to talk about the role outfitters and guides play in our local economy and the importance of protecting hunting access for future generations. We discussed the need to keep public lands accessible for sportsmen, protect Second Amendment rights, and make sure wildlife and land management decisions are guided by local knowledge and sound science — not one-size-fits-all policies handed down from Washington. Outfitters like Elk Glade Ranch help sustain jobs, support conservation, and preserve traditions that matter to rural Colorado. I’ll continue working to protect hunting access, support the small businesses that help drive our rural economies, and defend the constitutional rights of gun owners across Colorado’s Third District.

This week is National Police Week, an important opportunity to recognize the law enforcement officers across Western and Southern Colorado who put on the badge every day to serve and protect the people of #CO03. I recently attended a memorial service for fallen law enforcement officers alongside my colleagues in the Law Enforcement Caucus, including Rep. Crank and Rep. Evans from Colorado. Held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, the service was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices officers and their families make every day to keep our communities safe. Thank you to National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial CEO Bill Alexander for his remarks, and thank you to every law enforcement officer serving Colorado’s Third District. #NationalPoliceWeek
