Police Week ends. Our gratitude does not.
To the officers across the country who answer the call to keep us safe and protect our communities, thank you.

Grateful this #NationalPoliceWeek for the law enforcement officers who serve central Arkansas and communities across the country every day, and remembering those who gave their lives in that service. We are safer and stronger because of you.

HBCU Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Adams and I have been working for years on our bipartisan IGNITE HBCU Excellence Act.
We are fighting to strengthen HBCUs. This legislation would direct the Department of Education to award competitive grants to HBCUs, ensuring that all students prosper. More grants = more opportunities.

Every speaker yesterday was exceptional. Congresswoman Adams and I were blessed to be joined by so many leaders who are invested in making HBCUs as successful as possible.
Congresswoman Nikema Williams made a point to recognize the many opportunities HBCU students go on to have with the support and encouragement of these great institutions.
We want to see our students thrive.

The Constitution, federalism, and the role Congress plays in our system of government are complex subjects, but my Future Leaders Council gives 5th grade students the opportunity to learn important lessons about civics that will help them become more engaged citizens.
This was our third meeting, and Arkansas State Senator Mark Johnson helped me lead the discussion as students broke into small groups to brainstorm and write their very own bills.
Students Veronica Grigorian, Zowi Abrha, and Hudson Drye sat down to share their bill focused on recess policy. This sure put a smile on my face.
I always enjoy seeing these #futureleaders grow and develop their ideas, and I can’t wait to see what they do one day to help make our communities and country even better.

Last Saturday, the Cadron Post chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated a Liberty Tree to our community. They planted the tree in Matthews Park in Greenbrier in celebration of America’s birthday, #A250
The original Liberty Tree was a famous elm in Boston that became a rallying point for patriots. In 1775, the British cut down the tree in an effort to suppress revolutionary gatherings.
This tree now stands to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and symbolizes how far we have come as a nation🇺🇸🎇
Big thank you to Hunter Thrasher, who read Mayor Sammy Hartwick’s proclamation for Liberty Day and Faulkner County judge Alan Dodson for his remarks.

Had the chance to meet with Director AJ Gary of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management.
Our conversation touched on the latest updates about what the state is doing regarding cybersecurity response, issues Arkansas needs to improve, and potential future projects for state and federal government collaboration.
Looking forward to more developments and seeing future projects come to life.

Good food, great people, and a reminder of why small businesses matter.
It’s #NationalSmallBusinessWeek and I’m thankful for all the hardworking, passionate entrepreneurs that make our communities feel like home here in Arkansas.

The Wolfe Street Foundation is dedicated to recovery for Arkansans who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
They served 1800 individuals across 36 Arkansas counties last year.
Martha and I were pleased to attend their recent annual dinner and had a nice visit with my longtime friend Jay Gadberry and Miss Arkansas 2025, Kennedy Holland.
